There are a lot of Fitbit products to choose from, but the latest Alta HR so far is the best of them all, since its so slim and looks stylish with proven long battery life. We got a chance to test one out and here’s our hands-on experience.
Unboxing the box will reveal the Alta HR tracker, USB charger, and paper materials. The Alta HR band comes in small, large and XL size and its available in Black, Blue Gray, Fuchsia, and Coral colors.

Compared to Charge 2 the Alta HR is 25% slimmer with better battery life. It features has continuous heart-rate monitoring using PurePulse heart rate technology, sleep tracking, and impressive battery life of up to seven days.

When you’re not using Alta HR the screen is dimmed. To wake it up simply double-tap your tracker or turn your wrist towards you and it will automatically wake-up.
Charging the tracker takes about less than two hours. While the tracker charges, simply tap it to check the battery level it shows a solid battery icon indicating its full charge.
Complimenting the good tracker is having a great app. The Fitbit App is one of best fitness app out there. Its easy to use and syncing is easy simply open Bluetooth and launch the Fitbit app and it will automatically sncy your data to from your tracker. Fitbit has a large user base around 23.2 million active users and offers a variety of weekly challenges for competing against friends.
Difference between Charge 2 and Alta HR
The Fitbit Charge 2 and Alta HR got the same price. Both have almost the same features. So what’s the difference? Charge 2 has a built-in stopwatch and multiple workout profiles while Alta HR relies on automatic workout tracking. Also the Alta HR doesn’t include an altimeter so it will not measure stairs you climb each day and it does not have the guided breathing sessions that can be found on Charge 2.
The Alta HR is geared towards beginners and those who want their tracker in slim and long battery life.
