Vivo V7+ - adobotech

Again just like the V7+ the V7 also sports a Fullview display with 18:9 aspect ratio on a smaller 5.7-inch screen. It has a smaller body compared to other 5.5-inch smartphones. The side looks bezel-less with no home button. It feels good to hold this device, its seems to be the almost perfect size for a smartphone with this screen size. For sure those who got small hands will welcome the V7 body design.

The V7 is a selfie-centric device that packs a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 rear aperture and LED flash and 24-megapixel front selfie camera, f/2.0 aperture lens. Just like the V7+ the V7 is also equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB RAM but with a smaller storage capacity of only 32GB, not to worry since it has a dedicated microSD card that can support up to 256GB capacity in case you need extra storage for your media files.

In terms of everyday use, the V7 proves to be a reliable device, and with 3000mAh battery and smaller display size at only HD resolution, you can expect to use it for the whole day before you need to charge the battery.

There is a stigma attached when a smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset, others are saying that its underpowered hence you cannot run nice and popular online games.

V7 performs well and handle multitasking and games smoothly, We’re able to switch from one app to another without any issues there may be a slight delay but its tolerable. We tested NBA2K18 and it works like a charm, no lag issues or playtime issues.

We also tested some online games like the Star Wars Heroes, Ark of War and Mobile Legends and they are all playable on the V7 smartphone. Too bad this device has only HD+ resolution if only Vivo made it Full HD display it will be so much better.

In terms of benchmarks, the V7 managed to get a score of 58074 points in AnTuTu and 31fps in GFXbench.

User Experience – Color OS
It runs on Android 7.1.2 with Funtouch OS version 3.2. Inspired by iOS, with the default theme, the app’s icon has a flat squarish design, the quick menu can be easily accessed by swiping the screen up from the bottom while the notification is still the top of the screen.

Color OS offers some nice features like Face ID for unlocking the device, privacy and app encryption so users can lock any apps using the fingerprint scanner. It also has the Smart split, run two separate apps at the same time spitting the screen. There’s also App Clone, where you can have 2 accounts on same social media apps. Currently, it supports WhatsApp, Line, BBM, WeChat, Zalo and Viber more apps to follow soon.

It also supports Smart motion, which you can use custom gesture to activate certain features like unlock, take a photo, play music and more.

The V7 supports fingerprint, face ID and password to for security. The face ID unlocking is an interesting feature to use. Enrolling a Face is easy and simple, you just need to follow the simple instruction just make sure you are in a place with a good light source otherwise it will not work. Using it also requires a good light to identify your face. While the fingerprint unlocks the V7 very fast so its better to use this as the main feature to unlock the V7.

Priced at Php14,990 the Vivo V7 is a nice smartphone with nice slim body design and the full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio is nice too bad it only has HD+ resolution. The selfie camera with Face Beauty algorithm is great for those people who love to take selfies and share them on social media. Its also a good gaming device, it can run popular games without any problems and it has good battery life. Its a good contender if you are looking for a smartphone with nice selfie camera, big screen with small body frame and a good mobile gaming device.
