GCash, through its lending service Fuse, has partnered with Security Bank to make loan products more accessible to Filipinos. This partnership will allow selected GCash users to directly apply for Security Bank credit cards and, in the near future, home and auto loans, all from within the GCash app.

For qualified GCash users, this collaboration opens up a straightforward way to apply for their first Security Bank credit card. Soon, they'll also be able to apply for other loans like home and auto loans.

The process is quick and user-friendly, making it easier for Filipinos to access financial products with just a few taps. Plus, applicants can enjoy special perks, including Security Bank's no-annual-fee credit card.

Tony Isidro, president and CEO of Fuse Lending, shared the significance of this move: “Our partnership with Security Bank strengthens our mission to offer innovative and accessible financial services to millions of Filipinos. By bringing Security Bank’s trusted loan products to the GCash platform, we’re giving many users their first opportunity to apply for a bank loan in a simple and inclusive way.”

Since launching this feature, credit card applications have exceeded expectations, reaching many GCash users each month.

Rahul Rasal, EVP and head of retail banking at Security Bank, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We’re thrilled to work with GCash in providing more Filipinos with customized financial solutions. This partnership allows us to use our banking expertise to reach more people through a platform that’s easy to access and innovative for everyone.”

The partnership between GCash and Security Bank ensures that Filipinos can easily discover and apply for relevant financial solutions through the GCash app’s Loans Marketplace. It’s also a big step toward expanding access to fair and quality banking products, especially for the 44% of Filipinos who are still unbanked.

So far, GCash has loaned over PHP 155 billion to more than 5.4 million Filipinos, including small business owners, public market vendors, and farmers, through its Fuse lending arm. This is all part of GCash’s mission to provide financial services to everyone, helping them work toward their dreams with just a few taps on their phone.

As GCash continues to bridge the financial gap in the country, its efforts, together with partners like Security Bank, are creating a more inclusive digital economy that gives Filipinos more ways to grow their wealth and achieve financial freedom.
