realme 5i Design and Display
The realme 5i looks identical to its predecessor, the realme 5, at the front there is a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a mini-notch at the top where the selfie camera is placed. It has a 1600 x 720-pixel resolution with an 89% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

At the back, it has a new sunrise design that represents the young generation. The new design pattern that reflects the sun's rays when struck by light looks nice. It comes in two colors: Aqua Blue and Forest Green. It has curved sides and corners, which makes it easy to hold.

Just like the realme 5 it also sports a quad camera with LED light and a fingerprint scanner at the back. The camera lens has noticeable bumps, and when placed on the table on its back, it wobbles. It's not a slim phone, with an 8.95mm thickness and a weight of 195g, which is a bit heavy for a device with a plastic body, but it's still nice and easy to hold.

realme 5i Performance
Boasting a robust Snapdragon 665 AIE Octa-core 11nm processor with Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, the realme 5i offers a seamless blend of power and efficiency. With 4GB of RAM and a spacious 64GB of storage, expandable up to 256GB through a dedicated microSD card slot, users have ample room for multitasking and storage.

It packs a 5,000mAh battery, ensuring extended usage without frequent recharging. Its wireless connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS, and dual 4G VoLTE.

In benchmark tests, the realme 5i delivered noteworthy results, scoring around 170K in the AnTuTu app, outclassing competitors in its category segment. Geekbench 5 yielded impressive scores of 307 in single-core and 1,343 in multi-core tests. The GFXBench graphics benchmark showcased a commendable performance, with 13fps in the car chase scene and 51fps in the t-rex scene.

Beyond benchmarks, real-world tests involving popular games like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty, NBA2K20, and Asphalt 9 truly gauge the device's capabilities. PUBG Mobile played on medium graphics settings and demonstrated smooth and enjoyable gameplay without any glitches. Call of Duty, tested on high settings, ran seamlessly, although prolonged use did result in a warm sensation at the back—a normal occurrence given the CPU and GPU operating at full capacity.

In essence, the Realme 5i emerges as a compelling midrange phone, excelling in both benchmark evaluations and real-world gaming experiences, making it a noteworthy option for users seeking a powerful and reliable device.

realme 5i Software
Out of the box, it runs on ColorOS 6.0.1, based on Android 9 Pie. The first thing we did was check for updates and patches to be able to get the best performance.

It's a bit disappointing since it comes with a lot of pre-installed bloatware, such as Lazada, Trip.com, Zalo, Pinterest, TikTok, Photo Wonder, InShot, NhacCua Tui, Photo Wonder, and PicsArt. The good thing is that most of this app can be uninstalled easily if you think you don't need it.

Color OS comes with its own Game Center and App Market, which are the same as the Google Play Store. It does offer some cool features, such as Digital Wellbeing and Parental Control, App Cloner, Game Space, Split Screen, and a system-wide Dark Mode that can be found in the settings in realme Lab.

realme 5i Camera
The quad-camera setup has a 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera sensor. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with AI beautification placed at the mini notch.

It has a wide-angle mode with a 119-degree field-of-view, it can capture decent images in wide-angle format, but details are a bit washed with noticeable noise. On the other hand, using the macro mode, impressive, focused subjects have good details. Just make sure you have steady hands or use a tripod since it does not support auto-focus.

realme 5i: Battery
The realme 5i is equipped with a large a 5,000mAh battery. It has impressive battery life that extends well beyond a day, eliminating the need for frequent recharging.

Regrettably, the device lacks support for fast charging. Although it includes a 10W fast charger, the charging process remains time-consuming, taking approximately 150 minutes to reach a full battery charge. While this falls short of the rapid charging speeds offered by some other devices, it still outpaces the duration required by a standard charger, providing a relatively quicker charging option for users.
