Skullcandy Push Ultra True Wireless Sport Earbuds Review

Skullcandy Push Ultra

The majority of earbuds on the market today have a basic design, consisting of a tip that fits into the ear canal and delivers music to the ear. However, some people prefer an unsealed fit, such as the new Skullcandy Push Ultra True Wireless Earbuds.

Skullcandy Push Ultra

The Skullcandy Push Ultra wireless earbuds are not your typical TWS, it's designed for the active lifestyle that features up to 6 hours of playtime, with custom-tuned to deliver the music you can feel.

Design
After taking the Push Ultras out of the package, I was struck by a neon yellow attractive case. It has a zipper-type case which is a nice touch since it's more secure and the case has a nice feel on the hand.

Unzipping the case will reveal the earbuds that also come in neon yellow color. The earbuds have a hook that is soft and bendable, allowing them to stay in place on the ear to ensure a secure fit.

Both earbuds have their own set of on-ear controls for volume and track navigation it can be accessed by pressing the plus or minus buttons on either side and its easy to use. The power button can also be used to control the playing and call management. The buttons are responsive and have a nice click sound when pressed.

The ear tips are ergonomically designed and fit nicely in the ear canal, however, they are not replaceable, due to their design, and it's to keep the moisture from coming in since it's rated IP67 which is excellent.

Performance and Sound Quality
The Push Ultra earbuds pack 12.5mm drivers that deliver a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. it connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0, pairing is easy simply press and hold the button at the center of the earbuds for a couple of seconds to put it on pairing mode, and n your smartphone just look for the Skullcandy Push Ultra True Wireless Sport Earbuds and pair.

A companion app is available for both Android and iOS platforms, however, it is optional due to the lack of extra features. The app lets you switch between modes (music, movies, and podcasts), but this can also be done on earbuds by just pressing the main button on either bud for around two seconds.

In the event that you lose one earbud, you can use the app to simply "ring" it so that you can easily locate it thanks to the find Tile technology that's integrated into the earbuds.

The earbuds fit comfortably in the ear canal but do not provide a good seal around the ear for noise isolation and the ear hooks keep it secure. Since the earbuds' unique design allows you to hear more of your surroundings music isn’t going to sound really amazing.

During my bike ride, the Push Ultra earbuds produce good sound quality and at the same time, it allows me to be fully aware of my surroundings which is great since this makes my biking safer. My Spotify playlist, which is a mix of pop, rock, dance, electronic, soul, and podcasts, sounds nice on the Push Ultra earbuds.

Also, the earbuds can be used individually, which is a nice touch especially if you need to leave one ear open while cycling or running, this is useful when you are in busy streets with lots of cars and trucks.

Easy-to-access buttons make it simple to adjust the volume or skip music, as well as knowing that both earbuds have similar buttons. It doesn't provide much tactile feedback, making it difficult to tell if you've actually pressed them, especially if you're wearing gloves.

Battery life
The Push Ultra earbuds have around six hours of playtime, and around 34 hours more via the charging case, which is not bad, but battery life will vary on how the volume levels are used.

There is a type-c connection on the back of the case, and it also supports wireless charging, which is a nice feature since you just placed the case on the charging pad and it will start to charge the battery.
