Design and Features
The UGREEN USB M.2 SSD Enclosure comes in standard UGREEN packaging. Inside is the USB M.2 SSD Enclosure device with the user manual. The USB M.2 SSD Enclosure features a sleek aluminum shell design with two connecting plugs on both ends; one side features a Type-C connector and the other side features a standard USB A connector and it comes with protective caps, making it easy to plug into your computer or smartphone's USB ports.
It has a single LED light for notifications, weighs just 57g, and is small enough to fit in a pocket or handbag. The USB M.2 SSD Enclosure can be opened easily by pressing the lock button and gently pulling the other to open the chassis.
The Enclosure is compatible with SATA NGFF-based SSDs, including the 2280/2260/2260/2230 size, with a maximum capacity of 2TB. Inserting an SSD is simple; simply follow the connector into the slot and secure it with a locking clip, and its easy to hot-swap SSD.
It's plug and play, which means there is no software to install or drivers to download, and it does not require extra power. Its compatible with Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, and Linux systems. Android smartphones with a type-C connector and OTG capability may also be used with the enclosure, which is helpful since you can easily back up the contents of your phone to the enclosure.
Performance
We tested the enclosure with a Seagate SATA M.2 SSD with a size of 2TB, which performs as predicted given the USB 3.1 Gen2 interface's maximum data transfer rate of 6 Gbit/s, or in this case, 1GB/s. We did achieve a read speed of approximately 600–1060 MB/s and a write speed of approximately 1024–1032 MB/s, which is still rather fast in comparison to a standard USB stick.

Additionally, we attempted to connect it to one of our Android smartphones equipped with OTG capability; but, the enclosure does not appear to be recognized.
Thanks to its short-circuit, over-current, and over-heat protection, the enclosure keeps the SATA SSD drives and files safe while also generating less heat than conventional aluminum casings. The SSD drive's health can be monitored using the S.M.A.R.T function included as a plus feature.
