PLDT Home new Valentine's Day Mini-series

The power of digital connections to enable people to find communities, friends, and love despite the social distance is celebrated in a new musical anthology released by PLDT Home this Valentine's Day.

The two-part mini-series, titled #SpeedthatMovesYou, starring Gigi de Lana, Markus Paterson, and Kaori Oinuma premieres on the PLDT Home YouTube channel on February 11, 2022.

The Duet, the first episode, follows Markus (Markus Paterson), a popular singer-songwriter who is struggling to generate successful music songs. Finding refuge in making music for himself and anonymously putting it online, he meets Arlisa (Gigi de Lana), a young brilliant singer who, like him, posts anonymously out of fear of being in the spotlight online. They collaborate on music and fall in love, but their hidden identities jeopardize their newfound bond.

The second episode of the musical mini-series discusses The Confession, which emphasizes the value of self-acceptance. Abbie (Kaori Oinuma) is a college student, professional gamer, and streamer with a sizable internet following in this episode. Her mother is an offshore Filipino worker whose aim for Abbie is to secure a solid accounting position.

Abbie juggles her education and her passion for eSports–a side of herself that she hides from her mother–in order to earn her mother's approval. With a major eSports competition approaching, her classes piling up, and the emotional strain of concealing her dream eSports profession from her mother, the pressure builds on Abbie and eventually forces her to choose between her own ambition and someone she cares about.
