realme Design and Build Quality
It is made of aluminum alloy and comes in the same hue as the iPad mini, a dark grey that gives the device a tough look. The Pad mini has a compact and slim profile at only 7.6mm in thickness. However, at 372g, the Realme Pad Mini feels much heavier.

In terms of design, it looks like it's big brother the realme Pad, with some minor changes. On the back, is a single 8-megapixel camera mounted on a rectangular glass-like island. There are still lines, but they are now divided into two and arranged horizontally. While the realme logo is present in the tablet's bottom right corner.

When in portrait position, the USB Type-C port is on the bottom of the tablet, flanked by the microphone and speaker grille, while the headphone jack and second speaker are located on the opposite end.

The power button and volume controls are located on the upper right-hand side of the device and it gives nice tactile feedback when used.

While the SIM and microSD card slots are located on the opposite side of the tablet. A fingerprint reader is still missing, however, it does support alternative methods of screen unlocking such as PIN, Password, and Face unlock.

Apart from its compact form factor, the Pad Mini is a sturdy tablet that is great for work, play, and entertainment. However, given significant weight, prolonged use may be tiring on the hands, thus it's best to use it with a desk stand that allows for optimal use.

Display and Audio
Front and center is an 8.7-inch screen, with a resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 5:3, making it an ideal tablet for reading eBooks and watching videos in landscape mode, as well as playing games in portrait mode. With its 5-megapixel front-facing camera, it's also an excellent device for online schooling and video conferencing.

The Pad Mini's screen size falls between that of a full-size tablet with a 10-inch display and a smartphone with a 6-inch display, providing an ideal screen size for browsing media, creating digital artwork, and even playing games. Additionally, it's also good for multitasking, particularly when running apps in split-screen mode. Netflix, only supports HD playback, since it does not have HDR capabilities.

While the Pad mini only has two speakers rather than four, it provided a good, rich audio experience with enough volume for private listening and excellent stereo separation. It sounds louder when used in landscape mode; this could be because the speakers are located on both ends. Additionally, it features a 3.5mm audio port, which is convenient for listening to music on the go with your favorite wired earbuds.

It features a split-screen which can be accessed by quickly pressing the recent button 2x, with the list of apps you can choose which app you want to use side by side.

Performance and realme UI
The Pad Mini, is powered by a 12-nm Unisoc Tiger T616 chipset clocked at a maximum 2GHz, combined with Mali-G57 MP1 GPU, and 4GB of RAM. IT has 64GB storage and can be expanded via microSD up to 1TB. Also, it features a 4G/LTE SIM card slot that can make and receive calls, as well as a data connection.

It may not have the best chipset, but since it has a good custom UI, which makes it perform better, it's not a bad tablet given its affordable price. It runs on Android 11 with realme UI R Edition on top.

With the realme UI R Edition, you'll get a stock Android-like experience on this tablet. With a simple design, it's easy to use interface. It comes with the entire Google suite and is free of bloatware, which is a big plus.

It also comes with Google Kids space, which is designed specifically for children with content to help children discover, create, and grow.

The realme Pad mini scores on Benchmark Apps:

AnTuTu - 222,341
3D Mark Wild Life Stress Test - 471 Best loop / 466 Lowest loop
3D Mark Wid Life Vulkan - 469
Geekbench 5 - 307 Single-core / 1370 Multi-core

In terms of performance, this tablet is capable of handling any tasks, including creating digital artwork, taking notes, browsing the internet, participating in Zoom meetings, playing games, and watching movies. It worked great even when running multiple apps at the same time, thanks to its 4GB of RAM, which is enough to keep everything running smoothly.

realme Pad Mini

Gaming performance is good, nothing to brag about it: it's capable of running games such as Apex Legends Mobile, which is one of the most popular mobile games available today, at default graphic settings. But on Asphalt 9, it can be played on High-quality visual. For casual games, you won't have any problem playing on this tablet.

Cameras
When compared to the realme Pad, which has front and rear 8-megapixel cameras, the Pad Mini sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera which is less than half the resolution, and an 8-megapixel rear camera.

realme Pad Mini

Pictures taken with the main camera have good quality, although they appear a little washed-out, they are still fine for sharing on social media. The camera can record videos in up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. The front-facing camera is good for video conference, the quality is good as long as you have decent lighting.

Battery Life
The realme Pad Mini is equipped with a 6,400mAh battery, which is surprising given its slim profile; the brand could have used a higher capacity but it would have compromised the device's weight and thinness.

realme Pad Mini

The Pad Mini scored a battery life of 15 hours and 22 minutes in our PCMark test, which matches realme's claim. With our real-time tablet usage, we're able to obtain a full day's worth of screen time while still having enough battery life to last us till the next day.

It's hard to consider the 18W adaptor to be "fast charging," given that charging the 6,400mAh battery takes almost three hours to reach full capacity. But still it's fast enough compared to other brands that use a 10W adapter.

Pros
Premium built
Slim and compact size
Loud speakers
Good performance
4G LTE connection
Voice and SMS function
Good battery life

Cons
Screen low-resolution
Slow charging

Verdict
The realme Pad Mini is an ideal tablet with premium built for those who want a larger display than a smartphone that is easy to carry around, and because it also functions as a phone, it's an excellent backup phone or tablet for online learning, video conferencing, taking notes, and other work-related tasks. Additionally, it's an excellent multimedia device that lets you watch and enjoy your favorite Korean dramas. Although realme me could have enhanced the Pad Mini's display and added a more powerful Chipset to make it a more portable gaming tablet.

The realme Pad Mini is available in 3GB+32GB LTE variant for ₱9,990 and 4GB+64GB LTE variant for ₱11,990. It will also be coming in a 3GB+32GB WiFi variant later this month.
