Cherry Mobile recently introduced its first 5G smartphones, which include the Cherry AQUA S10 Pro 5G and the AQUA SV this new devices packs the latest technology and comes with affordable price tags.
The Cherry Aqua S10 Pro 5G is the newest member of the Aqua series. Its design and features resemble its older brother, the Aqua S10 Pro. It retails for only ₱7,999. Is it worth the upgrade? Time to find out in our Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro 5G review.

As expected, the Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro arrives in a familiar standard packaging with the Cherry AQUA branding on the front and the technical specifications on the back.
The inside of the box includes the Aqua S10 Pro smartphone, USB Type-C cable, charger, wired earphones, a jelly clear case, and tempered glass protection for the screen that is already installed.

The Aqua S10 Pro 5G has a somewhat conventional design. It does not have any distinctive features and it's not the most attractive smartphone available, but it has a clean and modern look for a 2022 smartphone.

It has a glossy plastic back panel, The surface can easily get fingerprint marks and can be scratched. Good thing it comes with a transparent case to protect it from smudges and scratches. The back of the phone is slightly curved on the sides and the corners are also rounded which makes it more comfortable to hold.
The three camera lenses on the rear are vertically aligned, while the fourth sensor and dual LED-flash light are positioned adjacently, below is the Cherry branding.
The power button that also doubles as a fingerprint reader sits on the right, while the volume rocker and the SIM slot is placed on the left side. The hybrid SIM tray allows the use of either one nano-SIM and one microSD card or two nano-SIM with 5G support.
The buttons provide a pleasant tactile feel when pressed, and the fingerprint reader unlocks the phone quickly.
The Type-C USB port, as well as the 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, and loudspeaker, are all positioned at the bottom of the device.

The screen has a 20.5:9 aspect ratio with slim side bezels and slightly wider bezels at the bottom. The front-facing camera is placed in a punch hole, while the earpiece is located at the top of the device.
The display provides a system-wide dark mode with adaptable brightness. It also supports color mode with options for Standard, Vivid, and Cool modes, with Cool mode proving to be the better option.
The display quality is acceptable, which is sufficient praise for a budget phone. The huge screen size provides a larger viewing area for work, social media, and multitasking, as well as additional space for on-screen controls when playing games and a more immersive viewing experience when watching videos. Additionally, the viewing angle and screen brightness are sufficient for outdoor use.
It only has a single speaker at the bottom, but it is surprisingly loud and has acceptable audio quality, not stereo but sufficient for watching YouTube or Facebook videos. For music, however, the audio jack provides superior sound quality.

For everyday use, performance is good for a phone with only 4GB RAM, sadly it does not support virtual RAM, which could have been an advantage in providing a more seamless user experience.
Multitasking and switching between apps work well, however, when running resource-intensive apps such as games, the system struggles to maintain a fluid user experience.

The gaming experience was very good, Call of Duty Mobile ran fairly well with no noticeable hiccups or lags at medium graphics quality and frame rates that were set as the high.
Gameplay on the Genshin Impact is also nice with the default settings, graphics settings can be set to medium and still get smooth gameplay, although there is a noticeable warm feeling at the back of the phone but nothing serious, and you can expect the battery to drain more quickly when playing games with custom settings and maximum brightness level.

Although the 5G performance is excellent, internet speeds will still be dependent on the location where there are Smart and Globe 5G coverage. In our scenario, we were able to get download speeds of approximately 132Mbps and upload speeds of 24Mbps.

The AQUA S10 Pro 5G ships with Android 11 out of the box, it's a stock version with no overlay skin which is good and bad at the same time. The UI is clean and simple with no bloatware installed, but it's also boring with the large-looking app icon.

It comes with a standard Google suite of apps including the Google Photo app which is the default media browser, Google Chrome as the default browser, and Google Assistant.
Custom wallpapers are the only sign of the Cherry brand, and there are several to choose from in the settings.

The Aqua S10 Pro 5G's rear quad camera configuration includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. While on the punch-hole display, is the 16-megapixel selfie camera.
When it comes to the quality of images shot with the phone's main camera, the results aren't anything exceptional but are still good enough to share on social media. Photos have average details and sharpness, while the contrast and dynamic range are decent and the colors are not the best but still look nice.
The camera app has a simple interface it only has Video, and Photo modes while the other modes are available by hitting the more button which includes: Night, Portrait, Panorama, Slow motion, Time Lapse, Pro, and the 108MP mode.

The Aqua S10 Pro 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. Given its large capacity, it should be able to power the phone throughout the day. In PCMark’s battery loop test, it scored 11 hours and 32 minutes.
During our time with the Aqua S10 Pro 5G, we were able to enjoy a full day of screen time, including social media surfing, reading emails, browsing the web, watching videos on YouTube and Netflix, and playing Call of Duty Mobile extensively.
Charging the battery is fast using the 18W charger, it can fill up the battery in less than 3-hours from 5% battery capacity. It also supports 10W wireless charging, which is something you won't see on most entry-level and midrange devices, but Cherry Mobile was able to equip this phone with this cool and convenient feature.
Using the 18W charger, the Cherry Aqua S10 Pro battery can be charged from 5% to 100% capacity in less than three hours. Also Cherry Mobile was able to outfit this phone with wireless charging which is a cool and convenient feature, that is usually reserved on flagship smartphones.
