The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is the top model in Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note lineup, combining a massive battery capacity, fast charging, durable construction, a high-resolution AMOLED display, and AI-powered features.
Massive Battery Capacity
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G packs a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 16% silicon content, offering up to three days of battery life under Xiaomi's simulated moderate-use testing. It supports up to 40 hours of video playback, 24 hours of navigation, 21 hours of gaming, and 15 hours of video recording.
The battery supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging, with Xiaomi claiming up to seven hours of video playback from a 10-minute charge. Managed by the Xiaomi Surge G2 chipset, the battery is rated to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles under Xiaomi's test conditions.
Titan-level durability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G features IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection against dust and water under specified laboratory conditions. It also passed Xiaomi’s TÃœV SÃœD water-resistance testing involving static freshwater at up to two meters for up to 72 hours.
The phone has 3-meter certified drop resistance under SGS testing conditions and uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for display protection. It also features an Underwater Mode for photography and video in static freshwater at up to two meters for 30 minutes. Xiaomi recommends a professional waterproof case for underwater photography.
AMOLED display
It features a 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 12-bit color, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Instantaneous touch sampling can reach 3,200Hz in Game Turbo Mode.
The display reaches up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and supports 1-nit ultra-low brightness, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and DC dimming. It also carries TÃœV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker Free performance.
AI-powered imaging
Photography is handled by a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The rear camera supports HDR, Portrait mode, Live Moment, Ultra HD mode, Panorama, Documents, Pro mode, and Underwater mode. Underwater Mode is available through an OTA update. Images can be captured in HEIF or JPEG formats.
For video, the main camera records up to 4K at 30fps, with options for 1080p at 30/60fps and 720p at 30fps. It also features an AI ultra-clear imaging system designed to improve portrait detail and color accuracy. AI camera tools include AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, and AI Beautify.
On the front, a 32MP camera with 0.61μm pixels and an f/2.2 lens handles selfies and video calls. It can also record 4K video at 30fps, along with 1080p at 30/60fps and 720p at 30fps.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 performance
Powering the phone is the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. It supports up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB storage, depending on the market. Memory Extension can provide up to 24GB of available memory on the 12GB RAM version. Xiaomi also promises a six-year like-new software experience and six years of security updates.
HyperOS and AI
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G runs Xiaomi HyperOS with HyperIsland and HyperAI features, including AI Writing, AI Interpreter, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, and AI Speech Recognition. It also supports Google Gemini and Gemini Live, with availability varying by region and software version.
Other features include Wet Touch Technology 2.0, an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, infrared remote control, multifunctional NFC, and stereo speakers.
Price and Availability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G starts at USD 499 for the 8GB + 256GB model, while the 8GB + 512GB version is priced at USD 599. These are approximately ₱28,000 to ₱29,000 and ₱33,500 to ₱34,500, respectively, before local taxes.
It's not yet available in the Philippines. Xiaomi has yet to announce the local launch date, pricing, and configurations.
