Xiaomi has officially launched the new REDMI Note 17 Series in the Philippines, with the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G joining the latest lineup. The new smartphone focuses on battery capacity, display quality, durability, and long-term usability.
8,340mAh Battery With 67W HyperCharge
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G comes with an 8,340mAh typical-capacity Silicon-Carbon battery. Xiaomi says its internal laboratory testing recorded more than two days of battery life in a simulated comprehensive battery-life scenario representing moderate daily use. The test includes activities such as home-screen use, music playback, social media, email, maps, video streaming, and standby. Actual battery life will vary depending on usage, network conditions, software, and other factors.
The phone supports 67W HyperCharge, with Xiaomi's internal testing indicating that the battery can reach 50% in 34 minutes. Actual charging time may vary depending on factors such as temperature, battery condition, and usage. The phone also supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging for compatible devices.
For long-term battery performance, Xiaomi says the battery retains at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 complete charge cycles, based on its laboratory testing and TÜV SÜD 5-star battery lifecycle certification. Xiaomi's theoretical calculation equates those 1,600 cycles to more than six years of use, based on a simulated usage pattern of one full charge and discharge every 1.79 days. Actual battery longevity will depend on usage habits and conditions.
For eligible first-sale purchases in the Philippines during the specified promotional period, Xiaomi also provides one free battery replacement if battery health falls below 80% within 60 months of purchase, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
6.83-Inch 1.5K AMOLED Display
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display reaches up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and supports 12-bit colour depth. Xiaomi also includes a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1-nit ultra-low brightness, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. These display features are designed to provide a brighter and more responsive viewing experience while offering additional eye-care options for different lighting conditions.
Durable Design
The new smartphone features a refreshed design with a silky matte finish and rounded corners. Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection for the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G. The device also uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for display protection.
The phone has also received SGS certification for 3-meter drop resistance under specified test conditions. Xiaomi also states that the device passed a 2-meter, 72-hour water-resistance test under laboratory conditions.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Platform
Under the hood, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm process. The chipset features an octa-core CPU with speeds of up to 2.4GHz and an Adreno GPU. The phone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Xiaomi also highlights a 60-month like-new software experience and up to six years of security updates.
50MP Main Camera With OIS
For photography, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G features a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The main camera's OIS is designed to help reduce camera shake when taking photos and videos. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 16MP front camera.
Long-Term Support
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G also comes with additional service benefits for eligible Philippine buyers. These include a 24-month quality assurance period, one free screen replacement within the applicable promotional period, one free back-cover replacement within 24 months, and the battery replacement benefit described above, subject to Xiaomi's terms and conditions.
