Redmi has launched its new Redmi Note 17 lineup, bringing a new generation of Note smartphones focused on battery life, display quality, performance, cameras, and everyday durability. One of the new models is the Redmi Note 17 5G, which packs an impressive 8,000mAh battery into a relatively slim body.
Large Battery in Slim Body
The Redmi Note 17 5G packs a massive high-density silicon-carbon battery that Xiaomi says can deliver more than three days of typical light use. Despite the large capacity, the phone is just 8.4mm thick and weighs 225g. It supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging, while the battery is rated to retain 80% capacity after up to 1,600 charging cycles.
Note: Battery capacity varies by market. The India and China variants feature an 8,000mAh battery, while the Global version comes with a 7,700mAh battery.
Large AMOLED display
The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 6.99-inch TrueColour AMOLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness, delivering smoother visuals, vibrant colors, and better outdoor visibility. It also supports DCI-P3, HydroTouch 2.0, 960Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming, and TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added screen protection, along with a reinforced construction designed to withstand everyday knocks and bumps.
Capable Snapdragon 4 Gen 4
The Redmi Note 17 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm process, with an octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.3GHz and an Adreno GPU. It comes with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, with microSD support for additional storage. The phone also supports 5G SA/NSA, making it suitable for everyday apps, multitasking, streaming, social media, and casual gaming.
50MP main camera
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 5G comes with a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and 5P lens. The camera supports a range of shooting features, including Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, Panorama, Document Mode, Time-lapse, and Dynamic Shots, along with AI-powered imaging features designed to assist with image processing. The rear camera can record video at up to 1080p at 30fps, while an 8MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies and video calls with features such as Portrait Mode, filters, Dynamic Photos, and time-lapse.
HyperOS 3
The Redmi Note 17 5G runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, with features such as HyperConnect, HyperIsland, Google Gemini, and Circle to Search. Xiaomi also promises four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates, giving the phone a longer software lifespan.
