Redmi 10C Hands-on Review
Xiaomi has gained popularity in its reasonably priced smartphones with good specs and performance. The Redmi 10C is the newest edition to Xiaomi's popular Redmi 10 series, and it delivers efficient and good performance.
The Redmi 10C is the latest entry-level from Xioami its available in two configurations, the 4GB+64GB priced at ₱6,299 and the 4GB+128GB that retail for ₱7,299, the latter is the version that we tested for this review.

Design and Build Quality
The Redmi 10c smartphone has been redesigned in comparison to the previous generation (Redmi 9c). On the back, there is a large camera enclosure that virtually almost takes up the entire upper portion. It houses the camera lens, LED Flash, branding, and surprisingly the fingerprint scanner, which is typically located in the upper center of the back.
The phone's dimensions are 169.5 x 76.5 x 8.3 mm and its weight 190g, which is on the lighter side; it is a large device, but its curved form makes it comfortable to hold and use. It's available in three color options: Mint Green, Graphite Gray, and Ocean Blue. The one we have is graphite gray, which gives it an upscale look.
The power button and volume rocker are located on the right side of the phone and provide a nice tactile feel when pressed.
On the left side is the triple SIM tray that supports two nano-SIM and one microSD card that supports up to 1TB capacity.
On the bottom are the typical Type-C port, speaker, and microphone. At the top, there is where the 3.5mm audio jack and additional mic hole IR blaster.
Display and Audio Quality
The Redmi 10C boasts a large 6.71-inch Dot Drop display with HD+ (1650 x 720) resolution, 268 PPI pixel density, and up to 400 nits of brightness. It is also a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for protection against scratches.
The screen's aspect ratio of 20.625: 9 is a little odd, especially when watching YouTube videos, but it is a minor flaw that can be easily ignored. Despite the disadvantage of visible bezels on all sides, the 82% screen-to-body ratio is still a good display size.
Reading mode is supported by the screen, as well as additional modes, such as sunlight and color temperature adjustment, to protect the eyes from harmful rays. This improves the screen's appearance and functionality and viewing angles.
The Redmi 10C also supports Widevine L1 HD files, which means it's capable of streaming HD quality for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video so you can watch your favorite movies in high definition, and it has a good single-firing speaker to round out the experience.
Cameras
The back of the phone is a huge square-shaped module with four camera lens holes, however upon closer inspection, only two of the holes contain actual camera lenses; the other two are for the LED light and a dummy camera lens.
The Redmi 10C sports a dual camera sensor at the back with a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 main sensor, with an f1/8 aperture. Its paired with a 2MP OmniVision OV02B10 camera with an f2/4 aperture. While at the front it has a 5-megapixel f/2/2 selfie camera.
The 50-megapixel camera supports by 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. Pictures captured in optimum lighting conditions are clear and full of detail, while the dynamic range and color reproduction are enough for social media sharing.

While the selfie camera is also good for taking selfies and used as a camera for video conferences, it also supports face unlock. It supports portrait mode that can capture pictures with a fairly neat and natural bokeh effect, as long as there is enough light.
The camera app supports the standard shooting modes, including the Night Mode for low-light conditions and Movie Frame for cinematic effects. It's capable of recording videos at 1080p at 30fps quality.

Hardware Performance
The Redmi 10C is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core Chipset with a 6nm manufacturing process. The chipset consists of 4-Kryo 265 Gold @ 2.4Ghz and 4-Kryo 265 Silver @ 1.9Ghz. The Qualcomm 600 series chipset is commonly found in low- and mid-range smartphones. This is paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 64/128GB UFS 2.2 storage with microSD card expansion up to 1TB.

This phone's improved chipset speed allows you to install all of your favorite apps, that will load more quickly and provide uninterrupted performance. For everyday use, it can multitask effortlessly and quickly switch between apps when needed. It supports virtual RAM up to 2GB making it a total of 6GB RAM which is more than enough to have a lag-free user experience.
When it comes to gaming, the Snapdragon 680 is capable of providing above-average gaming performance for its category. Popular games such as Mobile Legends can be played effortlessly with high frame rate mode and high graphics settings. Additionally, Apex Legends is steady and smooth even with high graphics settings for a long battle playtime. While Genshin Impact is playable with the lowest visual settings, the gameplay is still enjoyable.
MIUI 13 based on Android 11
Out of the box, you will get the latest MIUI 13 which is based on Android 11. Xiaomi claims that the latest version of its custom Android skin offers better app fluency and native apps also run better.
In terms of the user interface, the MIUI 13 has an eye-candy look and feel, the lock notifications are nice and easy to read, while the quick access menu can be activated by swiping from the upper right side of the screen going down. It comes with a lot of bloatware, Xiaomi's native app, and the complete Google suite of apps.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi 10C is equipped with a 5000mAh battery with an 18W fast charger. On average use, the battery can last the whole day. Longer battery life is likely due to the device's efficient processor and HD+ display resolution.
It takes roughly three hours to charge the battery from empty to full capacity, which is not a bad time frame but not also fast, taking into account that it only offers 18W charging, which is not the fastest charging commercially available.

The Redmi 10C is a good option for those looking for a reasonably priced smartphone with a large display, good hardware performance, a capable camera, and a large battery. It's a good gaming device for its price and thanks you can play popular games with ease and enjoy extended screen time thanks to the large battery. The downside, it does not support 5G, and faster-charging capability.
