The Reno8 Z 5G model is basically an updated version of the Reno7 Z 5G, sharing almost all of the latter's features and specs. It's a camera-centric smartphone, so we've included some sample shots alongside our initial thoughts and unboxing.

Inside the box comes the Reno8 Z 5G smartphone, USB-C cable, 33W fast charger, transparent case, SIM injector tool, paper documentation including the warranty, and quick guide, unfortunately, wired headphones are not included.

Build Quality and Design
The Starlight Black Reno8 Z we have is very similar in terms of design to its predecessor. With its glittery effects, the plastic back cover portrays a night sky filled with stars.

The matte exterior makes it harder to leave fingerprints. If you like a lighter-themed version but want the same shimmering effects, check out the Dawnlight Gold variant.

The camera island is also larger and goes beyond the boundaries of the frame, which is another noticeable difference. A darker black and higher gloss level set it apart from the Reno7 Z 5G. It still has a Blue LED light around the camera rings, indicating its charging which is a really cool feature.

It's also worth pointing out that there is a notch on the upper left side of the screen, where the selfie camera is placed and some people find this more visually appealing. According to OPPO's specs, the screen is now protected by SCHOTT Xensation Up glass.

First Impressions
The OPPO Reno 8 Z 5G is a well-constructed smartphone with an eye-candy design. However, except for a few enhancements, including a design, a new color option, and an update to the most recent version of Android OS, not much has changed. It seems to have the same design as the similarly priced Reno7 Z 5G, but the twin Orbit lighting and 64-megapixel AI portrait camera are interesting features. If you enjoy taking pictures with your smartphone, the Reno8 Z 5G is an excellent option.
