ASUS Strengthen Support to Filipino Artisans, Culminates Zarah Juan Collaboration
The collaboration between ASUS and Zarah Juan concluded in the delivery of specialized digital literacy training and laptops to seven separate Filipino artisan groups. On March 9, 2023, artisans from Lake Sebu, Davao City, Isabela Province, Paete, Bulacan, and Marikina City convened in Ortigas Center in Pasig City. Each community was given an ASUS laptop to aid in their business transformation and automate their routine business activities.
ASUS collaborated with Filipino social entrepreneur and fashion accessory designer Zarah Juan to produce a limited-edition, sustainable, locally-made bag to launch the world's lightest 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED laptop, the ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED, in September 2022. The Zarah Juan Zen Tote embodies ASUS' human-centric design approach. The Zen Tote, made by local artisans from locally available materials, pairs perfectly with the Zenbook S 13 OLED.
The Zarah Juan brand represents the designer's approach to single-use bags. Her career as a fashion designer and entrepreneur prompted her to improve the living conditions of Filipino artisans. It has now developed into a brand well-known for its #ProudLocal products made by Filipinos from all parts of the country. In addition to promoting environmental sustainability, Zarah Juan promotes social and cultural sustainability by highlighting Filipino heritage.

Filipino artisans spent a day learning how technology can help improve their work. They practiced preparing data sheets and encoding company data such as product costing, material inventory, and admin forms. They learned how to maintain their laptops to maximize their use and benefits for future generations.
