HONOR 90 5G Unboxing, Quick Hands-on and Sample Photos

The highly anticipated Honor 90 5G is officially arriving in the Philippines. Featuring a 200MP main camera, it promises to elevate mobile photography. It's designed to empower the always-on generation with its cutting-edge hardware and an array of captivating features.

We had a chance to get an exclusive first-hand experience with the new HONOR 90, even before its official launch in the Philippines. Sharing our first impressions focusing on design, build quality, and camera features.

Unboxing
The HONOR 90 5G comes in its standard packaging, bearing the brand name on the front. At the bottom of the box, you'll find essential tech specs, providing a glimpse of the features the phone has to offer.

In addition to the HONOR 90 5G smartphone, the box includes accessories, including a SIM pin and a USB cable for seamless connectivity and data transfer. It also comes with a 66W fast charger. This allows you to charge your device quickly. HONOR has taken extra measures for protection by including a free transparent case.

First Look at Design
The Honor 90 5G instantly amazes me with its craftsmanship and attention to detail. The sleek and slim design, with a mere thickness of 7.8mm and a lightweight body of 183 g, combines seamlessly with the metal and reinforced glass construction. The device is both premium and comfortable to hold. The curved edges enhance its ergonomic feel, making it a delight to use.

The Honor 90 5G is available in Emerald Green, Midnight Black, Diamond Silver, and Peacock Blue. Each one reflects light differently, creating an ever-changing play of colors that captivates one's vision. My review unit is Emerald Green, and it has a lovely smooth frosted texture with a gradient finish that makes it stand out among other smartphones.

The device features a triple-camera setup at the back. It comprises a high-resolution 200-megapixel main sensor with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor size, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and macro camera offering a wide 112° field of view, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The inclusion of the depth camera significantly enhances the camera's ability to accurately measure distances.

Up front, there is a 50-megapixel front-facing camera that can shoot stunning selfies that are full of details, making the HONOR 90 5G an ideal choice for content creators.

Located on the right side of the device, are the responsive volume rocker and power button, both designed to provide a satisfying click and easy accessibility. The bottom of the phone houses the USB-C port, a SIM slot that can accommodate two nano-SIM cards, a speaker, and a microphone. However, it's worth noting that the 3.5mm headphone jack has been omitted by Honor, meaning users who prefer wired audio will need an adapter to utilize their headphones with the Type-C port.

AMOLED Floating Display
The 6.7-inch Quad-Curved Floating display on the HONOR 90 5G looks really impressive. Covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supporting up to 1.07 billion colors, its high resolution of 2664 x 1200 brings visual content to life with amazing clarity and brilliant colors. The maximum HDR brightness of the display is 1600 nits, making it readable in bright conditions.

This display design incorporates smooth curves on all sides, giving it an immersive appearance. The Quad-Curved Floating display provides a seamless, edge-to-edge viewing experience with very minimal bezels.

Hardware
The Honor 90 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition, which has a 20% more powerful GPU and a 30% more powerful AI than its predecessor. 

It is equipped with an Adreno 644 GPU, 12GB of RAM plus 7GB (HONOR RAM Turbo), and 512GB of internal storage space. This assures lightning-fast performance and effortless management of resource-intensive apps and multitasking. The chipset's gaming optimizations provide seamless frame rates and fluid graphics, making gaming on this device an incredible experience.
