The Manila press conference wasn’t just another product launch, it felt more like a cultural moment. With his trademark energy, will.i.am spoke about blending pop culture, design, and technology into a new kind of audio experience. He described the xboom not simply as speakers but as a way to create moments that connect people through sound.
A Creative Force in Music and Tech
William Adams better known as will.i.am is more than a nine-time Grammy winner. He’s also a boundary-pushing innovator who has launched his own tech ventures, including the AI-powered RAiDiO platform. His role with LG as Experiential Architect is a natural evolution, combining his love for music, design, and technology to shape how people experience sound in everyday life.

LG executives highlighted the importance of this partnership. “This partnership embodies LG’s mission to create innovations that go beyond functionality, inspiring people to live, create, and connect in meaningful ways,” said Mr. Yongwoo Park, LG Philippines Product Director for Media Solutions.
How the Collaboration Started
The collaboration came together naturally. will.i.am shared that he’s been a longtime LG customer, using their TVs, appliances, and entertainment systems at home.
“About a year and a half ago, LG approached me with the idea of collaborating on a line of speakers. Honestly, I was blown away, LG is one of the best consumer electronics companies in the world. I’ve always been a fan,” he recalled.
The partnership felt personal, too. “I even called my mom to tell her, and she was just as excited,” he said. “I’ve always had a deep love for Korea and have collaborated with amazing artists like CL, the queen of K-pop. So working with LG felt right.”

More Than Just Sound
As Experiential Architect, will.i.am paid attention to every detail of the xboom experience, fom the sound quality down to the packaging design. He even made sure the speakers power on in the key of G, joking, “It’s LG: lower G.” “The experience is everything — from the first touch to the first sound,” he said.
Filipino artists and celebrities like Denise Laurel, Eric “Eruption” Tai, John Prats, and Isabel Oli joined the launch, adding local flavor to the celebration. Denise highlighted how the Stage 301 fits perfectly into Filipino culture: “We all have karaoke parties, especially during the ‘ber months.’ This is perfect for that—it’s portable, powerful, and brings people together.”
Music as Connection
Beyond technology, will.i.am emphasized the deeper role of music. “Music is like the connecting tissue for everyone. When you’re going through something, the right song helps you feel it, process it — maybe even heal. And when the sound is clean and clear, there’s nothing in the way. No distractions. Just you and the message.”
He also praised Filipino creativity: “Now’s the time for dreamers to dream the biggest dreams imaginable and that includes the Philippines becoming a superpower. Filipinos are talented beyond talent. Engineers, singers, doctors, dancers, all of it. Filipinos are freaking awesome.”
