Through this partnership, Converge will back DTI’s programs by offering reliable connectivity, digital onboarding support, and access to practical tools that can help MSMEs adjust to a more digital way of doing business. This also supports DTI’s ongoing work in helping startups and traditional businesses explore solutions like e-commerce automation, cloud services, and responsible use of AI.
MSMEs account for 99.6% of all registered businesses in the Philippines, and many still face challenges when it comes to adopting digital platforms. With Converge’s support, DTI aims to speed up digital readiness and help more entrepreneurs stay competitive in today’s fast-moving digital landscape.
Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista, Supervising Head of the DTI-Competitiveness and Innovation Group, highlighted the value of giving MSMEs access to digital tools. “Our goal is to push for MSMEs to embrace technology and digitalization, and we believe that this partnership with Converge strengthens our push. Through this initiative, we can give our entrepreneurs not just access to tools but a fair chance to compete and succeed in the global market.”
She also stressed that digital adoption is now essential. “The DTI believes that digitalization of our MSMEs is no longer optional but absolutely essential in today’s highly digital business environment.”
Under the MOU, Converge will offer connectivity packages and digital solutions to MSMEs joining DTI-led innovation and digitalization programs. These efforts include helping traditional businesses transition online and supporting startups exploring emerging technologies and AI-powered tools.
Converge Senior Vice President for SME Group Dindo Marzan shared the company’s support for the initiative. “Every business relies not only on effective and efficient connectivity but also easy-to-use and practical digital solutions. We are honored to support the DTI in ensuring that MSMEs—wherever they are—gain access to the technology and assistance they need to grow sustainably.”
This partnership reflects a shared goal to build a more inclusive digital ecosystem, encourage innovation, and ensure Filipino entrepreneurs—whether running a small store or building a tech-focused startup—are equipped to thrive in a digital-first environment.
