Splitting the bill after brunch, sending allowance to family, or paying a small business no longer has to feel like a hassle, or an extra expense. Starting February 1, 2026 Metrobank is lowering its InstaPay transfer fee to just ₱8 per transaction, the lowest it has ever offered.
The new rate applies to InstaPay transfers made through the Metrobank App and Metrobank Online. Transfers between Metrobank accounts remain free.
Digital transfers are now part of daily life. From paying utilities to online shopping and small side hustles, many Filipinos rely on instant transfers to move money fast. Over time, however, transfer fees especially for small amounts, can quietly accumulate.
Metrobank’s new ₱8 InstaPay fee is clearly aimed at everyday use. The fee was previously set at ₱25, so the drop is a noticeable relief for users who make frequent transfers. With this update, Metrobank joins banks offering more competitive InstaPay rates, without adding extra steps or conditions.
Metrobank says the move is about making digital banking easier and more practical. “By lowering our InstaPay fee to ₱8, we are making digital payments more convenient for our customers,” said Ramon Del Rosario, Metrobank Consumer Business Sector Head. “It’s about supporting Filipinos in their day-to-day financial needs.” He added, “We just want our clients to have more options. Every transaction should be simple, secure, and now, more affordable.”
Alongside cheaper transfers, Metrobank continues to push its eSavings account, which launched last year. Designed for first-time deposit clients, eSavings lets users save, manage, and grow their money fully online.
With a minimum deposit balance of ₱2,000, account holders get access to Metrobank’s digital tools without needing to visit a branch right away. It’s a straightforward option for anyone who wants to keep things simple while still enjoying secure banking.
Lowering the InstaPay fee to ₱8 may sound like a small change, but for people who send money often, it makes a real difference. Less spent on fees means more value from every transfer, whether it’s for daily expenses or quick payments.
To enjoy the lower InstaPay rate and free Metrobank-to-Metrobank transfers, users can open a Metrobank eSavings account through the Metrobank App or visit any Metrobank branch nationwide.
