RELX | Reed Elsevier marked its 15th year in the Philippines with a gathering at its Quezon City headquarters, joined by industry partners, community representatives, and senior leaders. The celebration included a ceremonial lighting of the company’s signage, highlighting a milestone that reflects steady growth since 2011.
From Content Operations to Tech and Analytics Hub
What started as editorial and content work has evolved into a comprehensive operation encompassing software engineering, data science, AI development, and risk analytics. Today, RELX Philippines employs over 6,000 knowledge workers across Manila, Iloilo, Alabang, Cebu, and Davao, supporting industries like legal, healthcare, insurance, aviation, research, and financial services.
The company’s progress has also been recognized externally. RELX | Reed Elsevier entered the Top 50 of the Philippines’ Best Employers 2026 list by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Statista, marking its third consecutive year on the list.
“From our humble beginnings, RELX | Reed Elsevier invested deeply in learning and development across all disciplines of technology, analytics, industry domains, and leadership,” said Mark R. Lwin, Managing Director, RELX | Reed Elsevier. “Our mission has been to develop and invest in Filipino talent who have grown with us through the many years.”
“We are very well poised … to create employment for our people and help them build their careers and their professional capabilities. This is part of the nation-building that we should all be proud of,” added Paolo la’O.
Technology with Real-World Impact
RELX Philippines plays a direct role in building global platforms used across multiple industries. Its teams contribute to systems that support medical research, improve legal workflows, and help organizations detect and prevent financial fraud. This reflects the company’s approach—developing technology that serves clear, practical purposes rather than just adding features.
RELX | Reed Elsevier leaders and partners, including Mark R. Lwin, Managing Director of RELX | Reed Elsevier Philippines; Paolo la’O, Chairman of the Global Capability Center Council of the Philippines; Monchito Ibrahim, Chair of the Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines; Therese Steiner, RELX Global Head for Customer Operations Strategy, AI, & Effectiveness, LexisNexis; and Joel Emmanuel Sumpaico, representative of the Office of Mayor Joy Belmonte, raise a ceremonial toast to mark the company’s 15th anniversary in the Philippines.
Investing in Talent and Community
RELX continues to focus on employee development through One RELX | Reed Elsevier University, offering training across technology, analytics, business, and leadership. Employees also gain certifications in AI, Agile, Six Sigma, RPA, and Information Security while working with global experts.

The company extends this support beyond its workforce through RELX Cares. In partnership with the Kapatid Kita Mahal Kita (KKMK) Foundation, RELX committed ₱4.3 million for 2026 initiatives focused on education and long-term talent development. Seven scholars from the program have already joined the company.
“RELX | Reed Elsevier and KKMK share the same mission to empower disadvantaged students through education,” said Evangeline Aquino. “Through more CSR programs like this, more disadvantaged children and youth would get the opportunity to learn and fulfill their dreams.”
RELX was also named the #3 Top Inspiring Workplace in Asia by the Inspiring Workplaces Group in 2025, with recognition for culture and purpose.
“Our commitment is to develop higher value digital analytics and technology-enabled capabilities, to deepen industry domain expertise, to grow leaders with a common mission of servant leadership, to invest in future-ready Filipino talent, and to strengthen our role as a long-term partner in the country’s growth,” added Lwin.
As RELX Philippines moves forward, its priorities remain consistent building advanced digital and analytics capabilities, developing industry expertise, and continuing to invest in Filipino talent.
