TCL Launches A400 Series TVs,
TCL Philippines has officially introduced its new TCL A400 Series QD-MiniLED TVs during the “Heritage in Every Frame” event at the Centro de Turismo Intramuros Manila, highlighting how modern display technology can showcase and preserve Filipino culture.

TCL Launches A400 Series TVs,
Held in celebration of the country’s 128th Independence Day, the event combined art, history, and technology by featuring digitally animated masterpieces from National Artist Fernando Amorsolo displayed on TCL’s latest television lineup.

The launch centered on the TCL A400M and TCL A400 Pro, two models designed not only as entertainment devices but also as decorative pieces that blend into modern living spaces through their art-display capabilities.

Amorsolo Paintings Brought to Life on TCL A400 Series
One of the event’s biggest attractions was a curated collection of Fernando Amorsolo’s iconic works presented on the TCL A400 Series TVs. Among the featured paintings were Carabao Riding in Sunset, Noonday Meal, Tinikling, Dalagang Bukid, The Blind Man, Fruit Market, and Bataan. Using the A400 Series’ high-resolution display technology, the artworks were enhanced through digital animation while maintaining the original character and details of the paintings.

The exhibition offered visitors a different way to experience some of the country’s most recognizable artworks, with subtle motion effects adding depth to scenes depicting Filipino life, culture, and history.

According to TCL Philippines Chief Executive Officer Peter Chen, the new lineup reflects the company’s vision of transforming televisions into more than just entertainment screens. “The TCL A400 Series represents our vision of what home entertainment can become, not simply a device for viewing content, but a centerpiece that enhances the living space even when not in use.”

Digital Animation Meets Traditional Art
The animated presentation was made possible through the work of visual artist and digital animator Mark Cañega, who led the remastering of Amorsolo’s paintings for the exhibit. Instead of dramatically altering the original works, the project focused on introducing natural movement while preserving the artist’s signature style.

Explaining the creative process, Cañega said: “Animating the masterpieces of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo is an incredible honor and a unique technical challenge. His paintings are not static; they are vibrant snapshots of moving wind, flowing rivers, and rural Filipino life. To honor his legacy, we ensured the animation feels like a moving canvas rather than a cartoon. Every frame is carefully optimized to preserve Amorsolo’s signature use of glowing sunlight and warm colors, matching the beautiful texture of the original oil paintings perfectly on the TCL A400 screen.”

Celebrity Guests Share First Impressions
The event also featured a panel discussion with actress Heaven Peralejo, content creator Jenny Yeo, and Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo.

Sharing her first reaction to the display, Peralejo admitted that she initially mistook the television for an actual artwork. “At first, I didn’t even realize I was looking at a television—I thought it was an actual painting. The screen captures the texture, details, and raw emotion so flawlessly that the essence of the original artwork remains intact. It truly captures humanity, reflecting the remarkable endurance of Filipinos during those times.”

Jenny Yeo highlighted the TV’s Art Gallery mode as her favorite feature, noting its ability to display artwork even when not being used for entertainment. “My absolute favorite feature is the art gallery mode. Growing up, I always watched TV, but now I love that this mode allows me to display beautiful, available paintings instead of a blank screen. It strikes the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. As a mom, I genuinely enjoy having this in our home, which is why I really want the TCL A400 Series TV.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea Manalo pointed out how the television serves as a bridge between Filipino heritage and modern technology. “The TCL A400 Series brings a modern touch to the museum experience. It seamlessly integrates with today’s technology, effectively bridging our rich culture and heritage with modern innovation. In fact, when you look at the TV, it doesn’t even feel like a typical piece of modern technology—it blends in like a piece of art.”

TCL Donates Appliances to Intramuros Institutions
Beyond the product launch, TCL also announced donations of televisions and air conditioning units to several institutions within Intramuros. The beneficiaries include the Centro de Turismo Intramuros, Intramuros Information Center, iMAKE History Fortress LEGO Education Center, and the Fr. Luis G. Merino, O.S.A. Library.

According to TCL, the initiative aims to support local institutions while promoting cultural preservation and community development. The TCL A400 Series marks the company’s latest effort to combine display innovation with lifestyle-focused design, while also highlighting Filipino artistry through one of the country’s most celebrated painters.
