Alongside this new feature, the app is also introducing Gemini-powered AI, personalized route recommendations, and enhanced voice interactions, making it easier for drivers and riders alike to navigate with more relevant directions and real-time information.

Motorcycle Mode offers navigation designed for riders
Motorcycle Mode is one of the standout additions in this update, giving riders navigation that better reflects how motorcycles travel on the road. Once the feature becomes available in your region, you can enable it by opening Settings, selecting Vehicle details, then choosing Vehicle type and selecting Motorcycle. After switching modes, Waze will begin providing routes optimized for two-wheelers.The feature also highlights road hazards that are particularly important for motorcycle riders, including potholes, speed bumps, raised crosswalks, narrow bridges, and shoulder endings.
Motorcycle Mode is launching first in selected countries, including the Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Peru, with additional markets expected to follow.
Gemini AI makes voice interactions more natural
Waze is also introducing Google Gemini, making it easier to interact with the app using everyday language. Instead of memorizing specific voice commands, users can simply tap the voice search button and ask questions naturally.Whether you're looking for the nearest gas station with the lowest prices, parking close to your destination, or a restaurant along your route, Gemini can understand conversational requests and provide relevant navigation results.
The update also introduces Conversational Reporting, allowing drivers to describe traffic, accidents, road closures, or other incidents in their own words. Gemini interprets these reports and converts them into structured information that can be shared with the Waze community. This feature is currently rolling out to beta users before expanding to more users in future updates.
Navigation that learns your driving preferences
Another new addition is Personalized Navigation, which learns from your driving habits over time. Instead of always recommending the fastest route, Waze can suggest roads based on the routes you frequently choose.
