Design and Build Quality

Compared with the more premium styling of the HONOR 600 and 600 Pro, the HONOR 600S 5G takes a more practical approach to its design. It has a flat frame, flat display, and a more substantial build that gives it a solid feel when held.

The design is straightforward. The flat display has noticeable bezels, while the rear features a square camera island positioned at the upper-left corner.
The camera module has a simple layout, with the main camera and auxiliary lens arranged vertically and the LED flash positioned beside them. It keeps the back looking clean without making the camera system the main focus of the design.
The physical controls are arranged in familiar positions. The power button and volume controls are placed on the right side, making them easy to reach with the thumb when holding the phone in the right hand.

At the bottom, the phone has the USB Type-C port, along with the SIM tray, speaker, and microphone. The port placement follows the usual smartphone layout, so there is no adjustment needed when connecting a charger or other USB Type-C accessory.
At 168.3 × 78.54 × 8.3mm and around 216.5 grams, the phone is sizeable. The weight is noticeable during extended one-handed use, but it also gives the device a substantial feel. Much of that size can be attributed to the large 8,100mAh battery inside.
HONOR 600S 5G Review
The thicker body makes sense given the large battery and durability features. This is not designed to be an ultra-thin phone. The focus is more on battery capacity, durability, and everyday usability.
One of the more interesting additions is the physical AI Button on the side. It provides quick access to supported AI functions and shortcuts, which is useful when working with the phone's AI tools.
The available colors are Desert Gold, Misty Purple, and Velvet Black. Misty Purple has the most distinctive look, while Velvet Black is the more understated option.
The main drawback is the thicker bezels, which make the display look less premium compared with phones with slimmer bezels. The camera bump is also noticeable and can cause slight movement when placed on a flat surface.

Durability

Durability is one of the HONOR 600S's stronger points. With IP68, IP69, and IP69K protection, plus SGS five-star drop resistance, the phone is built to handle the usual bumps, dust, and exposure to water that can happen during daily use.

This protection is particularly useful for commuters, delivery riders, and people who regularly use their phones outdoors. There is less worry when using the phone in light rain, around dust, or in situations where accidental drops are more likely.
The protection does add confidence, but it does not make the phone indestructible. Normal care is still needed, especially around strong impacts and prolonged exposure to water.

Display and Sound

The 6.87-inch TFT LCD works well for everyday use. Watching YouTube, TikTok, and other videos is more enjoyable on the larger screen, while the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, and web pages feel smoother.

HONOR also includes several features aimed at improving viewing comfort. DC and Dynamic Dimming help reduce visible flickering, while Low Blue Light Mode makes the display more comfortable in darker environments. Sunlight Enhancement Mode also helps improve visibility when using the phone outdoors.
Another useful feature is Wet-Hand Touch Enhancement, which helps maintain touch responsiveness when the screen or hands are wet. This can be particularly useful when using the phone outdoors or in light rain.
The dual speakers are another useful addition. Videos and social media content are easy to hear without headphones, while the higher volume is useful in noisier surroundings.
The main compromise is the 1592 × 720 HD+ resolution. Content still looks good for casual viewing, but text and detailed images are not as sharp as on Full HD+ displays.

Performance

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 delivers solid performance for everyday use. Social media, messaging, web browsing, video streaming, navigation, and work apps run smoothly, while the 8GB RAM helps when switching between frequently used applications. The 256GB storage also provides plenty of room for games, apps, photos, videos, and downloaded content.

HONOR also includes HONOR RAM Turbo, which can provide up to an additional 16GB of virtual RAM using internal storage. There is no option to manually choose a smaller or larger RAM Turbo allocation, so the full configuration is handled by the system. This can help keep more frequently used apps available when switching between them.
HONOR 600S 5G Review
For gaming, Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are comfortable at reasonable settings. More demanding titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG MOBILE, Blood Strike, and Delta Force are playable, but lowering the graphics settings helps maintain a more consistent experience.
In AnTuTu v12.0.1, the 8GB + 256GB version scored 693,280 points. This puts its performance in line with what can be expected from an entry-level 5G chipset. It has enough power for everyday apps and moderate gaming.
The chipset has its limits with demanding 3D games. Higher graphics settings can lead to slower performance, so the phone is better suited to everyday tasks and moderate gaming.
Overall, the performance is dependable for everyday use, with HONOR RAM Turbo adding useful support for multitasking.

5G and Connectivity

This phone supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, and dual-SIM. 5G provides faster mobile data when available, while Wi-Fi handles regular internet use. Bluetooth works well for connecting wireless earbuds and other accessories, while dual-SIM support is useful for keeping personal and work numbers on one phone.

AI Features

The AI Image-to-Video 2.0 is probably the most enjoyable AI feature on the phone. Turning an old photo into a short moving video makes it possible to bring old memories to life. It is especially fun with old family photos, travel pictures, or photos that would normally just stay in the gallery.
AI Image to Video 2.0 Adds More Creative Options
The feature lets you animate photos using preset prompts or custom instructions, giving you more control over the movement and overall result. You can describe the subject, movement, setting, and specific details you want the AI to include.
You can also combine up to three images to create a short sequence, or use a first and last frame to generate a transition between two moments. This makes it useful not only for animating a single old photo, but also for creating short visual stories from multiple images.
Beyond Image-to-Video, the phone includes Moving Photo Editing, Moving Photo Eraser, Magic Color, and Magic Pose. These tools provide practical ways to edit photos directly on the phone, from removing unwanted elements to adjusting colors and getting pose suggestions based on the shooting location.

The physical AI Button also provides quick access to supported AI functions, making these tools easier to reach without going through several menus.
The biggest limitation is that AI Image-to-Video 2.0 has a limited number of video generations. Continued use requires a subscription, although HONOR offers a relatively low-cost option. This is worth considering if the feature becomes part of your regular content-creation workflow.

Camera

The HONOR 600S has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with an auxiliary lens and a 5MP front camera. Both cameras support 1080p video recording. For a phone positioned around everyday use, entertainment, and content creation, the camera setup makes sense.
HONOR 600S 5G Review
Taking photos during a commute, capturing food, friends, family moments, quick travel shots, or posting on social media is straightforward. The main camera provides enough detail for the typical photos shared on Facebook, Instagram, or messaging apps.
Daylight is where the camera feels most comfortable. Photos are generally easy to capture and share, while Portrait and Night modes provide useful alternatives when the lighting or subject changes. The High-Res mode can also be useful when you want additional detail or plan to crop a photo later.
The experience is less about having a large selection of cameras and more about getting a usable shot quickly. There is no need to treat the phone like a dedicated camera. For casual photography, the main sensor handles the job without making the experience complicated.
The camera also works well with the phone's AI features. A photo does not necessarily have to be the final output. It can be edited with the built-in tools or turned into a short video which adds another layer of creativity for social media content.
The camera system has clear limitations. There is no dedicated ultrawide or telephoto camera, so landscapes, large group photos, and distant subjects are less flexible. The 5MP selfie camera is also fairly basic, while video recording is limited to 1080p.
The camera matches the phone's positioning well. It is capable enough for everyday photos and social media, while the built-in AI tools add more value for users who enjoy turning their photos into creative content.

Battery and Charging

The 8,100mAh battery is one of the strongest reasons to consider the HONOR 600S. With regular everyday use as a main phone, the large capacity provides plenty of battery throughout the day.
HONOR 600S 5G Review
In our battery test, the phone lasted more than a day on a single charge with regular everyday use. For commuters and users who spend long hours away from a charger, this is particularly useful. There is less need to constantly check the battery level or look for a power outlet during the day.
The phone supports 45W HONOR SuperCharge. A 35 to 40-minute charge can provide enough power for a typical workday, while a full 0% to 100% charge takes around 80 to 90 minutes. Charging slows down toward the final part of the cycle to help manage heat and battery health.
For overnight charging, Smart Charging can learn your charging habits and pause charging around 80%, then complete the remaining charge closer to your usual wake-up time. The phone also has overcharge protection and temperature monitoring to help manage power delivery and charging temperatures.
For better charging safety, it is still best to place the phone on a hard, flat surface rather than under a pillow or blanket.
The large 8,100mAh battery means a full charge still takes longer than phones with smaller batteries, even with 45W charging. There is also no wireless charging.

Wrapping Up

The HONOR 600S focuses on the things that matter most for everyday use. The large battery, durable build, 120Hz display, reliable performance, 5G connectivity, and useful AI features make it a practical choice for work, entertainment, and content creation.
The camera system and HD+ display show where HONOR made compromises to keep the phone accessible. The larger and heavier body also takes some getting used to, especially during extended one-handed use.
The HONOR 600S starts at ₱18,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at ₱19,999. The 8GB + 128GB model is offered as an online-exclusive configuration.
