Gilas Pilipinas

Smart Communications, Inc. lets you support our Gilas Pilipinas Men’s National Team all the way to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) via real-time streaming through gigafest.smart.

Gilas program director and head coach Tab Baldwin takes his young 12-man squad to fight NBA-loaded lineups in Belgrade, Serbia, fresh off a 3-0 performance at the Clark bubble. Gilas is set to play games against the host country Serbia and the Dominican Republic on July 1 at 2:15 a.m. and July 2 at 2:30 a.m., respectively.

The Philippines is banking on the momentum courtesy of Gilas’ six-game sweep of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers. Gilas needs to score an upset in Belgrade to have a shot at the knockout semis against any of the following teams—Puerto Rico, Italy, or Senegal. The top two teams will move to play in Group B of Men’s Basketball at the Tokyo Olympics.
