PLDT Loyal Customer wins P5 Million in Grand Giveaway Promo

The first-ever PLDT Home Rewards Grand Giveaway promotion winner is a 57-year-old Rod from Manila, who has spent years caring for his parents and keeping in touch with his family via phone conversations.

A loyal subscriber of PLDT for 38 years, Rod has got an SMS asking him to sign up for PLDT Home Rewards, which automatically qualifies him for the raffle. "I chose to participate simply because, and I didn't believe I would actually win," he stated. "Imagine my amazement when I received a phone call from a PLDT Home representative. In the beginning, I didn't believe it at all!"

The youngest in a brood of six, Rod resigned from his office job in Makati to take care of his ailing parents full time. “I never considered it a sacrifice on my part. I’m glad that I was there for them in their final years.” Rod said that his phone line was his connection to his siblings, three of whom are already based overseas.

“It’s been years since I last saw them, but we never lost touch and would always update one another through frequent calls,” he said. “My older sister said, maybe this is your prize from heaven. It’s our parents’ way of thanking you for your selflessness.”

Since it’s been ages since he and his siblings last got together, he’s musing if winning the grand cash prize could be a sign for a family reunion, especially with overseas travel restrictions now being eased. “They’ve been teasing me, calling me don or boss! I’d love to see them and my nephews and nieces soon!”
