realme Design
The realme 9 boasts a dynamic 3D ripple texture design. There are three color options available: Sunburst Gold, Stargaze White, and Meteor Black. The Sunburst Gold looks impressive and when it's hit by the light it shimmers and the color looks more premium. However, the other two hues also look fantastic.
Its one of realme's slimmest devices to date, weighing only 178 grams and having a 7.99mm profile which makes it comfortable and easy to hold.
The triple camera system on the back is encased along with the LED flashlight and has a noticeable camera lens bump. Thankfully, it comes with a free soft case to protect the camera lens from scratches, and it stands level when placed on its back on the table.
The power button is placed on the right side while the volume rocker is on the left side together with the SIM slot, and just like any other realme smartphone, it has a triple-slot tray that supports two nano-SIM (4G capable) and one microSD card that support up to 256GB storage capacity.
The 3.5 mm audio connector, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and the loudspeaker grill are located at the bottom of the device. A secondary microphone is on top, and mono speakers produce loud, decent audio quality.
AMOLED Display
Just like the realme 9 Pro+, the realme 9 also boasts a 6.4-inches Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole display with 2400 × 1080 resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass screen, and 1000 nits peak brightness.
The bezels on the screen are visible but not intrusive. With a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, the display provides a fluid user interface interaction, and the high touch sampling rate makes gaming more enjoyable.
With its 10,240-level auto brightness adjustment, the display provides a comfortable viewing experience for social media surfing, gaming, and media consumption. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which prevents it from easily getting scratched.
realme incorporates a nice heart sensor on the in-display fingerprint scanner that can read and record heart rate, that app is still in beta testing but it's still nice to try this cool feature and be able to monitor your heartbeats whenever you want.
Prolight Camera
realme 9 triple camera systems consist of the 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL main sensor, complemented by an 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide camera and a 2MP 4cm macro camera. While the selfie camera sports a 16-megapixel sensor. For taking selfies, it got a 16-megapixel camera sensor.
The Samsung HM6 sensor's Nonapixel Plus technology, 9-sum Pixel Binning, combines nine pixels into one big pixel to absorb more light in low-light conditions. This allows for more pixel output and reduces noise, resulting in photos that are brighter and clearer, making them ideal for posting it on social media.
Even if the images captured at night using the 108MP mode or the night mode are less sharp than those captured during the day, its still worthy of being shared on social media platforms.

In terms of the quality of the videos that can be recorded, it only supports 720p and 1080p video recording, and it features a super steady mode that helps keep videos stable even if you have shaky hands.

In terms of charging, the 33W fast-charging capability is pretty much good, since the phone is aimed at the mid-budget price segment. compared to the Realme 9 Pro+, which has a much faster 65W fast-charging capability. Sadly, it still does not support wireless charging.
The 33W charger can charge the battery from 0% to 55% in 30 minutes and from 0% to 100% in approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes, which is excellent for this price range.
