Design and Built
The OPPO A57 has a square-shaped body with a very attractive OPPO Glow design. The version we received for review is Glowing Green, but it is also available in Glowing Black.

OPPO A57

The back glowing green color appears to be more of a mint green shade and OPPO's special process creates a shimmering, glossy tone, making it look really premium. OPPO did a good job in making it comfortable to use and does not easily slip on hands, It's also not a fingerprint magnet.

When compared to other models in its price range, the A57 stands out for its 2D premium build quality, thin profile (7.99mm), and sleek design. The free case further enhances the device's scratch resistance. Additionally, it is IPX4 waterproof and IP5X dustproof resistance which is a plus feature of this phone.

The back of the OPPO A57 has a thick casing that houses the camera modules, as well as an LED flash and the oppo branding.

The power button that also serves as a fingerprint reader is located on the right side, and it unlocks the phone quickly and accurately every time it's used. Face unlock and a password is also available for added security.

OPPO A57

The volume rocker and SIM slot are positioned on the left side of the device, and the triple tray accommodates two nano-SIM and one microSD card with a maximum capacity of 1TB.

OPPO A57

On the bottom of the device are the standard connection ports, including a 3.5mm audio jack, and the USB-C port it also has a speaker grille, and a microphone.

The box contains the OPPO A57 phone, a USB type-c cable, a 33W charger, a SIM pin, a soft case, and paper materials. Sadly it does not come with a wired headset.

The new OPPO A57 looks gorgeous and stylish. It feels great in the hand, and the mint green color stands out beautifully, especially when it's on a table.

Display and Audio Quality
Unlike the original OPPO A57 which has a 5.2-inch IPS HD display, this all-new OPPO A57 boasts a larger 6.56-inch HD+ display. The large screen features a vivid Colour-Rich display with AI Eye Comfort and blue light reduction designed to provide the least strenuous eye experience possible.

OPPO A57

Its dual-stereo speakers and Dirac3.0 makes it a great device for immersive audio, videos, and gaming. This feature gives twice as loud audio compared to a single-speaker design.

OPPO A57

The screen-to-body ratio is a decent 89.8%, and the refresh and touch sampling rates are both standards at 60 Hz. The color gamut is 96%, and the pixel density is 269 pixels per inch. Overall, the color reproduction is good and the viewing angles are decent, however, it is not recommended to be used outdoors in direct sunlight.

Cameras
The OPPO A57 is equipped with a 13-megapixel f/2.2; FOV 80°; 5P lens; AF; open-loop focus motor primary camera and a 2-megapixel f/2.4; FOV 89°; 3P lens depth camera. It sports an 8-megapixel f/2.0; FOV 79°; 5P lens front-facing camera for selfies.

OPPO A57

The main camera takes really nice photos during daylight or in places with good lighting. However, in photos taken in low-light conditions, noise and image quality are degraded especially in nighttime shots.

OPPO A57

It has a Night Mode, which improves the quality of images taken at night. Selfies are particularly impressive, as the image quality is sharp and rich in details.

Other camera modes include Photo, Portrait, Tim-Lapse, Pro, Pano, Sticker, and Video. For video recording, both the front and back cameras are capable of recording 1080p at 30 fps videos.

There is nothing outstanding about the camera; photos are more than adequate for sharing on social media, and the video quality appears to be good, but it lacks stabilization, so if you have shaky hands, videos will appear unstable.

Hardware and Performance
Under the hood, it got a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with 8 cores, up to 2.3GHz clocked speed paired with IMG GE8320 GPU clocked at 680MHz. It also has 4GB LPDDR4X of RAM and 64GB of storage.

OPPO A57

The MediaTek Helio G35 is not the most recent mobile processor, but it is designed specifically for gaming smartphones. It features HyperEngine technology, which provides smooth performance, improved power efficiency, and dependable connections with reduced latency.

OPPO A57

The A57 performs well with the social media apps like updating status, browsing media, making phone calls, and SMS operations on a daily basis. This phone is also good for playing games such as MMORPG and other light games such as Wordle. However, it tends to become quite warm after prolonged use. With 4GB of RAM and supports up to 4GB of virtual RAM, it ensures that everything will run smoothly and improves performance for daily usage.

OPPO A57

Out of the box, It runs on Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 on top. It offers a nice User interface and some cool features such as:
  • Privacy Dashboard that allows users to review which apps have accessed personal data in the past 24 hours.
  • Photo Data Privacy allows users to safely share photos by removing geographic and other personal data.
  • Three-Finger Translate with Google Lens allows users to easily access the world, simply swipe to translate from multiple languages.
  • FlexDrop allows users to switch seamlessly between multiple apps, windows, and tasks.
It also has its own APP Market where you can easily download apps and games without the need to sign-up with a Google account. Other features include FM radio, Clone Phone, Screen Lock, Recorder, Compass, and Calculator.

Battery and Charging
The OPPO A57 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVooc fast charging support. On average use, the battery can last for a day on a single charge.

Using the provided charger, a 15-minute charge will allow for around four hours of video streaming, while a 30-minute charge will fill the battery to 50% capacity. From 0%, it takes approximately two hours to fully charge the battery.

Pros
Nice Built quality
Comfortable to use
Premium look and feel
Large display
Good performance
Long battery
Fast charging

Cons
Supports only 4G
Camera performance could be improved

Final Thought
The OPPO A57 is a stylish smartphone with a great front-facing camera. The performance is not as fast as other brands with a much more current chipset, but it is still quite good, and ColorOS 12 makes everything go smoothly. Overall the OPPO A57 is a well-designed smartphone with adequate performance and long battery life.

The OPPO A57 retails for ₱8,999, it's now available in OPPO Brand Stores, authorized dealers, and the OPPO flagship shop on Shopee.
