Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Next Generation of Ultra Slim Foldable

Xiaomi revealed its foldable flagship smartphone the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 its a giant technological leap in the ultra-slim foldable smartphone space with Leica imagery, and powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform.

Unfolded, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 measures just 5.4mm and provides a consistent viewing experience on both its inner as well as outside displays. In addition, it provides an authentic Leica imaging experience and exceptional power with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

Xiaomi concentrated on the hinge to accomplish these improvements in form factor. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a self-developed Micro Waterdrop Hinge with a reduced bending radius, thinner screen modules, a unique tiny rotating hinge, and solder-free precise method to build carbon fiber double-wing floating panel. These highly integrated elements decreased the number of hinge pieces to 87, enabling a lighter and slimmer design.

In addition, both sides of the hinge use space stacking technology and extensive hidden spaces for soft boards, enabling a 20% increase in space utilization and a 5.4mm1 flat design with balanced weight distribution.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has two AMOLED screens of varying sizes on two sides. The outside panel has a conventional 21:9 aspect ratio for maximum compatibility and user experience. 6.56-inch display Samsung E5 material, 2520x1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, P3 color gamut, and 1000nit brightness give it an edge over rival displays.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2's 8.02 "OLED display from Samsung. It employs POL-LESS technology, which substitutes the standard polarizer with an ultra-thin color filter, to reduce screen reflection. Light transmittance has increased 33%, while electricity consumption has decreased 25%. It supports P3 color gamut and LTPO 2.0 1-120Hz AdaptiveSync Pro. Ultra-low anti-AR material reduces display reflection to less than 2%, improving detail and attractiveness.

Both screens support 120Hz refresh rate, expert color calibration, 1,000nit brightness, and Dolby Vision. Dual ambient light sensor on the front and rear provides natural and smooth automatic brightness adjustment.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 runs MIUI 13 OS. Developed as a permutation of the conventional MIUI interface, it's well matched to foldable form factor, with screen interaction optimizations to improve user experience.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for fast performance. With excellent power efficiency allows for a long-lasting battery, with a full day of use even while using the inside screen, and longer use when using the outer display.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a large-area VC cooling system, rare for foldables. The high-quality VC has a 2,520mm2 surface area, improving thermal conductivity by 50%. The battery's inner layer has a 3715mm2 second-generation boron nitride heat dissipation sheet. Multi-layer high-density graphite sheet ensures Xiaomi MIX Fold 2's durability.

Xiaomi has created a new standard for smartphone photography by blending Leica's photography expertise with its computational photography expertise.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2's 50-megapixel IMX766 primary camera has 7P lenses with ALD anti-reflective coating for optical quality. 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 8-megapixel telephoto cameras with 2x optical zoom and portrait mode.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a Leica-certified Summicron lens and two photographic styles: "Leica Authentic Look" and "Leica Vibrant Look." Both provide photographers more creative freedom. It supports 30 fps continuous shooting with Xiaomi ProFocus.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for video recording and playback. Videos shot on Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will look great, especially when using UGC sites that support Dolby Vision.
