AMD Introduces "Zen 4" Architecture-Based Ryzen 7000 Desktop Processors

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors are fast and efficient. AMD Ryzen 7950X CPU improves single-core performance by up to 29% 2, provides up to 45% more compute for content creators in POV Ray 3, and delivers up to 15% quicker gaming performance in certain titles 4 and 27% higher performance-per-watt 5. AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop Processors

The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series features a double-digit IPC boost over "Zen 3" 6, further solidifying the award-winning "Zen" architecture's innovation, execution, and delivery. Ryzen 7000 Series is the world's first high-performance x86 5nm CPU, bringing the speed of "Zen 4" architecture to gaming and content creation.

The 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPU offers 57% greater V-Ray Render performance than the competition 7. Even the 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU is 5% faster than the competitor's flagship gaming processor 4.

AMD Ryzen 7950X is 47% more energy efficient than the competition. The Ryzen 7000 Series Processors have a new 6nm I/O die that provides hardware-accelerated video encode/decode, light graphics tasks, and multi-display compatibility. Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop CPUs perform more effectively than ever thanks to innovative power management technology from AMD's mobile processors.

New AMD Socket AM5 Updates
AMD introduced the Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processors with Socket AM5 platform, which offers dual-channel DDR5 memory. AM5 has up to 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, making it AMD's most powerful desktop platform. AMD will support Socket AM5 through 2025 and beyond with emerging technologies including PCIe Gen 5 and DDR5 memory.

The new Socket AM5 motherboard family features four new chipsets, giving users the power and flexibility to choose the exact features they want. The four chipsets feature:
