The Redmi 12C boasts a stylish and chic textured design that improves slip-resistant grip. The device's unibody construction, coupled with its curved back, also makes it comfortable to hold.
While the fingerprint sensor looks like it was designed to be hidden, it's placed on the camera island to seamlessly blend in, making it not easily accessible, and it takes a bit of practice to get used to it. But it does the job well in unlocking the phone, and it works every time.

This phone is slim at only 8.77mm and also lightweight at 192g, which makes it easy to slip into a pocket or purse. The power button and volume buttons are conveniently located on the right side, providing a satisfying tactile experience when pressed.
The triple SIM tray on the other side has room for two nano-SIM cards and one microSD card that can support a whopping 1TB of storage capacity.
Display
With its large 6.71-inch HD+ Dot Drop display, the Redmi 12C offers stunning visuals at 1650 x 720 HD+ resolution and a good 20.6:9 aspect ratio that makes everything look so much better.
Even though the screen has some noticeable bezels, especially at the bottom, the screen-to-body ratio of 82.6% is still good for such a large screen. Viewing angles are also good. However, I must say that the 500-nit brightness level leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to using it outdoors or under direct sunlight.
It also features a Reading Mode, which makes the screen light gentler on the eyes, significantly reducing blue light, protecting the eyes, and making the device more comfortable to use.
Performance
MediaTek's Helio G85 chipset is what drives the Redmi 12C. The octa-core CPU is equipped with two Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs running at up to 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 processors running at up to 1.8GHz, interlinked by a large L3 cache for improved performance.

It also comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, My review unit is the 4GB+128GB variant, which offers good performance and can handle multiple apps and games with ease. It also has a smooth and responsive experience, even when multitasking or playing games.
Camera
The Redmi 12C sports a dual AI camera system at the back with a 50-megapixel main camera that can shoot images with vibrant colors and crisp details. With HDR and Night Mode, the camera can be used in low-light conditions.

The user-friendly interface of this camera software complements its wide range of shooting modes, which include portrait, panorama, slow-motion, and more.
There is a 5-megapixel front camera for capturing selfies in the display's notch that can take decent selfies and also works well for video chats and meetings.
Battery Life
The Redmi 12C comes with a 5,000mAh battery that keeps it powered up all day long, even when I'm crushing it with heavy usage.
It supports 10W fast charging, although I must say that it's not really fast since it uses the older micro-USB port, which has its limitations when it comes to fast charging. But it definitely gets the job done! Charging the battery takes about 3 hours to fully charge.
Pros
Stylish design
Large display
Good Performance
Decent cameras
Long battery life
Cons
Not Android 13
Uses an old micro-USB port

It also has a long battery life, but its fast charging capability is limited by the use of a micro USB port. In addition to the microSD card slot, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition, there is also a 3.5mm audio port, which is another of its notable features. If you are in the market for a budget smartphone that offers the mentioned features, then the Redmi 12C is a good option.
