The Predator League offers players the opportunity to develop their potential in the gaming industry. More than 15,000 teams from the Asia Pacific region have participated in the Asia Pacific Predator League since it started in 2018.
This year’s trials are divided into three stages: the Qualifiers, the Group Stage, and the Grand Finals.
The Qualifiers will be carried out both online and in-person to provide opportunities for aspiring esports players to start their professional careers. In the Philippines, four offline qualifiers will be held in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and NCR. In addition, there will be four online qualifiers accessible to anyone from the Philippines. Each winner will receive ₱5,000 in addition to a place in the Group Stage. These pocket tournaments will be conducted for Dota 2 from July to September and for Valorant from September to October.
After determining the challengers, they will be divided into two categories for the Group Stage. The format will be a round-robin best-of-one, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Grand Finals. Group Stage matches will be livestreamed so that supporters can cheer on their team.
In November, the top four teams will compete in a LAN final in front of a roaring live audience, showcasing their tenacity and talent. A Dota 2 and Valorant champion will be crowned and will take home not only the Predator Shield but also P₱250,000. The runner-ups will receive ₱100,000, while third and fourth place will receive ₱55,000.
Early in 2024, the champions of Dota 2 and Valorant will also represent the Philippines in the Grand Final. Details regarding the Grand Finals will be revealed shortly.
