Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 17e, the most affordable member of the iPhone 17 family. Although it sits below the main models, it offers meaningful upgrades in performance, camera quality, durability, and storage.
This year, Apple focused on giving users more out of the box. The iPhone 17e now comes with 256GB of storage, providing users with more space for photos, videos, apps, and games from the start.
A19 Chip Delivers Faster Everyday Performance
At the heart of the iPhone 17e is Apple’s latest A19 chip, built on advanced 3-nanometer technology. It is up to 2x faster than iPhone 11, making daily tasks feel smoother and quicker. The upgraded GPU also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, allowing more realistic lighting and reflections in supported games. The new 16-core Neural Engine is designed for large generative models and helps power Apple Intelligence features more efficiently than before.
New C1X Modem for Better Efficiency
iPhone 17e features the new C1X cellular modem designed by Apple. It is up to 2x faster than the C1 found in iPhone 16e and matches the speed of iPhone Air. More importantly, it uses 30 percent less energy compared to the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro. This helps extend battery life while keeping connectivity fast and stable.
Stronger Design with Ceramic Shield 2
Durability is another big highlight. The iPhone 17e features aerospace-grade aluminum and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The new Ceramic Shield 2 front cover offers 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation and reduced glare. It feels solid and ready for daily use.
The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display delivers sharp details and vibrant colors. With up to 1200 nits peak HDR brightness, it stays visible even under bright sunlight. Face ID remains fast and secure, while the Action button gives quick access to favorite features like the flashlight and visual intelligence.
48MP Fusion Camera with 2x Telephoto
The iPhone 17e features a 48MP Fusion camera that works like two cameras in one. It enables an optical-quality 2x Telephoto, allowing users to zoom in without losing clarity. Photos can be captured at full 48MP resolution or at the default 24MP for balanced file size and quality.
Portrait mode has improved with more natural depth and smoother background blur. The phone also recognizes people, dogs, and cats, and automatically saves depth data. Users can adjust focus after taking the photo directly in the Photos app. HDR processing delivers better skin tones, bright highlights, and deeper shadows while preserving fine details.
For video, the iPhone 17e records in 4K Dolby Vision at up to 60 fps. It also supports Spatial Audio recording and improved wind noise reduction for clearer sound.
All-Day Battery and MagSafe Support
With USB-C fast charging, it can reach up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. It also supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W, which is a major improvement compared to older models with slower wireless speeds. MagSafe accessories such as chargers, wallets, cases, and camera attachments snap easily into place.
iOS 26 and Smarter Features
iPhone 17e runs on iOS 26, featuring a refreshed design with Liquid Glass and improved personalization options. Apple Intelligence brings Live Translation to Messages, FaceTime, Phone, and even AirPods. Visual intelligence now works directly on the screen, letting users search and interact with what they are viewing.
Call Screening helps manage unknown callers, while Hold Assist waits on the line until a live agent is available. Messages from unknown senders can also be filtered into a separate folder. For safety, iPhone 17e supports Messages via satellite, Emergency SOS via satellite, Roadside Assistance via satellite, Find My via satellite, and Crash Detection.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 17e comes in black, white, and soft pink, with two storage options. The 256GB model is priced at ₱44,990, while the 512GB variant is priced at ₱59,990.
