FUJIFILM NPVW 2025 exhibition at Ayala Museum
FUJIFILM Philippines presented the Nationwide Photo and Video Walk 2025 Exhibition as a curated showcase of stories drawn from familiar landscapes. Built from over 4,000 photographs and videos taken by photographers and videographers across 32 cities, the exhibition showcases how everyday scenes can be reinterpreted through diverse perspectives.

Held at the Ayala Museum from March 20 to 22, 2026, the exhibit brings together works from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao under the shared theme of “Contrasts.” Rather than defining the theme outright, the images let it unfold naturally. Differences in light, movement, culture, and environment quietly shape each frame, giving viewers multiple ways to interpret what they see.

The range of locations adds to that sense of variety. From the textured walls of Intramuros to the historic presence of Magellan’s Cross in Cebu, and the open spaces of Quezon Park in Davao, each setting carries its own identity. What ties them together is how they are framed often familiar, but presented in a way that feels newly observed.

There’s a noticeable restraint in how the photos are captured. Many of them lean away from heavy staging, focusing instead on timing and awareness. Small details shifts in light, passing moments, everyday interactions, become the focal point. It’s this approach that gives the exhibition a more grounded and relatable feel.
Filipino photographer, curator, and educator A.G. De Mesa
Additional context came through the walkthrough sessions led by acclaimed Filipino photographer, curator, and educator A.G. De Mesa. By breaking down selected works, he highlighted the decisions behind each frame, how composition, patience, and perspective all come together to shape a story.

From thousands of submissions, a number of entries stood out for their clarity and intent. In the Open-to-All Category, Mark Albert Serrano from Luzon, Gem Almund Cañada from Visayas, and Abdel-aziz Masjiril from Mindanao each presented distinct interpretations of “Contrasts,” shaped by their respective environments. They were awarded a FUJIFILM X-E5 camera paired with an XF23mm F2.8 kit lens.

In the FUJIFILM Exclusive Category, Benedic Torres for Photo and Paul Christian Catoera for Video were recognized for their work in still and motion storytelling. Torres received a FUJIFILM X-T5 with an XF16-80mm kit lens, while Catoera was awarded a FUJIFILM X-H2S paired with an XF33mm F1.4 lens, tools that support more advanced creative output.
Fuji-san collectible by Happy Garaje from NPVW 2025
A smaller but memorable detail from the exhibition is Fuji-san, a handmade collectible created by Cebu-based artist Happy Garaje. Designed to reflect curiosity and creativity, the figure represents the spirit of the Nationwide Photo and Video Walk. Around 100 limited-edition pieces were given to walk leaders and partners, with winners also receiving one as a keepsake.

Beyond the recognition and awards, the exhibition reflects a larger sense of community. The works on display are tied not just to individual creators but to shared experiences across different locations. That connection is visible in how similar themes appear across different regions, each shaped by local context.
Masahiro Uehara, President of FUJIFILM Philippines
“NPVW 2025 has truly shown how photography and videography can bring communities together and reveal stories that might otherwise go unseen,” said Masahiro Uehara, President of FUJIFILM Philippines, Inc. “Through the theme of ‘Contrasts,’ participants captured the richness and diversity of Filipino life, turning everyday streets and landmarks into narratives full of meaning and heart. This is exactly what we hope to achieve, connecting people through their shared vision and love for the craft.”

Looking ahead, FUJIFILM Philippines is set to continue this momentum with the FUJIFILM Festival for the Community, by the Community, happening in May 2026. The upcoming event is expected to bring together more photographers, videographers, and enthusiasts, further expanding the platform for creative storytelling.
