TECNO has officially brought the TECNO CAMON 50 Series to the Philippines, following a pre-order run that drew strong foot traffic both in stores and online. Now that it’s widely available, more people can finally try it out, compare it, and see how it fits into their everyday use.
The CAMON 50 Ultra 5G leads the series with a clear focus on imaging. It features a 50MP main camera built around a Sony LYTIA 700C Ultra sensor, paired with a 50MP telephoto lens capable of up to 100x zoom. Alongside that is an 8MP ultra-wide with macro capability and a 50MP front camera. The phone has achieved a DxOMark camera rating of 146 points, the highest in its class.
It’s a flexible setup that covers most shooting scenarios, from everyday snaps to zoomed-in shots when needed. The higher zoom levels are there if you want to push it, though most users will likely stick to more usable ranges.
Durability is one of the more noticeable upgrades this time. The CAMON 50 Series now comes with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, along with MIL-STD-810 certification. That’s not something you usually see at this price, and it adds a bit more confidence when using the phone outdoors or in less controlled conditions.
Up front, the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G uses a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It’s sharp and smooth enough for daily use, whether you’re scrolling, watching videos, or editing photos. The 2160Hz PWM dimming also helps make it easier on the eyes at night.
Its powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset built on a 4nm process. In everyday use, it handles typical tasks like social apps, browsing, and light editing without much slowdown.
The standard CAMON 50 follows a similar direction, with its 144Hz AMOLED display standing out for smoother visuals, while still keeping the overall experience practical.
Battery capacity sits at 6,500mAh, paired with 70W charging. It’s enough to get through a full day of mixed usage without constantly thinking about charging. And when you do need to plug in, it tops up fairly quickly.
