Nothing Phone (4b) Gets a Refined Design, Bigger Battery, and AI-Powered Features

Nothing has officially launched the Nothing Phone (4b), its latest mid-range smartphone with a refreshed design, upgraded hardware, and a bigger battery. The new model builds on the company's signature transparent-inspired look while adding a refined Glyph Bar.

Refined Design with a Familiar Identity
The Phone (4b) combines the unibody design introduced on the Phone (4a) Pro with the updated Glyph Bar first seen on the Phone (4a). The result is a cleaner rear panel while keeping the distinctive Nothing aesthetic that has become recognizable since the company's first smartphone.

Nothing says the new unibody construction improves bend resistance by 20% compared to the Phone (3a) Lite. The device also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and is designed to withstand accidental exposure to water up to 25cm for 20 minutes.

The smartphone is available in Black, White, and Blue color options. Nothing has also introduced a special Phone (4b) RCB Edition featuring exclusive Royal Challengers Bengaluru branding and collector's packaging.

Glyph Bar Gets an Upgrade

The signature Glyph lighting remains one of the Phone (4b)'s defining features. The updated Glyph Bar now uses 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs with up to 3,500 nits of brightness. It continues to provide visual notifications for incoming calls, messages, charging status, recording indicators, and customized alerts.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Powers the Phone (4b)
Powering the Phone (4b) is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, built on a 4nm process. The chipset is paired with Qualcomm's 6th Generation AI Engine, allowing more AI-powered features to run directly on the device.

Nothing also equipped the phone with a 4,400mm² vapor chamber, helping maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions and heavy workloads.

Larger Battery with Fast Charging
The global version of the Phone (4b) comes with a 5,200mAh battery. Nothing says the Phone (4b) can last up to two days on a single charge under typical use. Charging is handled through 33W fast charging, capable of reaching 50% battery in under 30 minutes and a full charge in just over an hour.

50MP Camera with Ultra XDR Imaging
For photography, the Phone (4b) features a 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) alongside a 119° ultra-wide camera and a 16MP front camera. The camera system is powered by TrueLens Engine 4, which introduces Ultra XDR imaging by combining 13 RAW frames into a single image to improve highlights, shadows, and color accuracy.

Video recording supports 4K at 30fps, with OIS, EIS, and AI anti-shake working together to produce smoother footage. Nothing has also added Dual Video Capture, allowing users to record using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

AMOLED Display and Stereo Speakers
The Phone (4b) sports a 6.77-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Audio is delivered through dual stereo speakers, which Nothing says provide a 20% wider stereo effect than the previous generation. The phone also includes the company's 160-level volume control for more precise adjustments.

Nothing OS 4.1 with Essential AI
The Phone (4b) runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, bringing features like Lock Screen Depth Effect, Soundscape Widget, and Live Notifications across the Always-on Display, Lock Screen, Status Bar, and Glyph Interface.

It also includes Nothing's full Essential AI suite, with built-in ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Circle to Search, Hey Google, and quick access to Essential Space, Essential Search, Essential Voice, Essential Apps, and Playground via the dedicated Essential Key.

Nothing promises 3 years of Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates, offering long-term software support for the phone.
