vivo has officially introduced the vivo X500 Pro Max in China, expanding its flagship smartphone lineup with a strong focus on photography and imaging. The new model is designed to deliver a more versatile camera experience, combining vivo’s imaging technology with its partnership with ZEISS.
The vivo X500 Pro Max is the top model in the new X500 series, which also includes the standard X500 and X500 Pro. vivo positions the Pro Max as a creator-focused flagship, with its imaging system built around both still photography and video.
200MP ZEISS Telephoto Camera
The X500 Pro Max features a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP ZEISS main camera using vivo’s new BluePrint LightGuard 900 sensor. The 1/1.28-inch sensor has an f/1.57 aperture, a 24mm equivalent focal length, ZEISS T coating, and 3-degree gimbal-grade stabilization.
The main camera is joined by a 200MP ZEISS APO super telephoto camera. It uses a 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/2.67 aperture and an 85mm equivalent focal length. vivo also lists CIPA 7.0 professional-grade stabilization and a 15cm minimum focusing distance for macro photography.
Completing the system is a 50MP ZEISS ultra-wide camera with autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture. The phone also uses a multi-zone laser focusing system with 1,536 laser points to assist focusing across different shooting scenarios.
For longer-range photography, vivo offers optional ZEISS telephoto accessories. The X500 Pro Max supports the equivalent of a 200mm ZEISS G2 teleconverter and a 400mm ZEISS G2 Ultra teleconverter.
Built for Mobile Video Creation
Video is one of the biggest areas of focus for the X500 Pro Max. The BluePrint LightGuard 900 sensor supports up to 17EV of dynamic range, while vivo says the system can adapt across both photo and video capture.
The phone supports native 4K recording at 240fps for slow-motion footage. It also offers 4K 120fps subject tracking and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video, giving creators more flexibility when working with footage in post-production.
vivo also adds dedicated cinematic tools, including a Movie mode, cinematic color profiles, AI highlight editing, and a Movie Workshop with features such as subject locking, rotating camera effects, dual-view recording, and super slow motion.
The phone can also create native 8K Live photos, while 4K cinematic Live photos are supported through an update.
2K ZEISS Display and Dimensity 9600 Pro
The X500 Pro Max comes with a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color display. The BOE Q11 panel supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz, with vivo highlighting color accuracy and its collaboration with ZEISS for the display experience.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on a 2nm process. vivo says the platform uses a 2+3+3 CPU architecture with two ultra-large cores and focuses on improving performance and power efficiency.
The X500 Pro Max runs OriginOS 7 and also includes features aimed at gaming and demanding workloads, including support for high-frame-rate gaming and hardware-assisted graphics features.
8,000mAh Battery With 90W Charging
Another major feature is the 8,000mAh Blue Ocean battery. vivo uses its fifth-generation silicon-anode battery technology and says the battery has a silicon content of up to 25%. The company also highlights low-temperature battery performance.
Charging support includes 90W wired charging and up to 40W wireless charging when used with compatible vivo or iQOO wireless charging accessories.
The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. vivo notes that the device is not a professional waterproof phone and that liquid damage from immersion is not covered under warranty.
Creator Accessories
vivo is also offering accessories designed around the X500 Pro Max’s imaging capabilities. These include the ZEISS telephoto converters, a dedicated imaging grip, a creator kit, and the vivo Snap Screen.
The Snap Screen features a 3.92-inch touchscreen that can display the phone’s rear-camera preview, allowing users to frame selfies and other shots using the main cameras. It can also provide remote shooting control from up to 10 meters away.

Pricing and Availability
The vivo X500 Pro Max was launched in China on September 21, 2026, with sales starting September 24. The lineup is currently available for the Chinese market, with vivo yet to announce details on international availability.
