OnePlus10T 5G

With flagship features, a premium design, and the fastest wired charging, the OnePlus 10T 5G aims to reclaim the company's founding principle of providing a "flagship killer" device at a reasonable price in its category.

After nine successful years in business, OnePlus recently announced a merger with OPPO. Many years of collaboration between OnePlus and Oppo have resulted in some of the best smartphones on the market. This establishes OnePlus as a premium sub-brand of Oppo, designed to deliver flagship-level performance.

The OnePlus 10T 5G is now available in OPPO Stores near you, as well as on Shopee and Lazada, for only ₱35,990 for the 8GB+128GB variant and ₱39,990 for the 16GB+256GB variant.

Design and Built
The OnePlus 10T is offered in two distinct colors: jade green and moonstone black. According to Oneplus, volcanic rock served as the inspiration for the texture of the latter. It's easy to grip and appears pretty elegant from a distance, while the Jade Green variant has a smooth and highly reflective finish, and is a fingerprint magnet.

The OnePlus 10T is a bit on the hefty side for a flagship smartphone, measuring 8.75mm in thickness and weighing 203g. Its ergonomic shape and rounded edges make it easy to grip and comfortable to hold. Both the front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In addition, it comes with a pre-installed screen protector and a matte rubber case included in the package.

The rear camera module features the OnePlus 10-series' signature design. It's a portion of the glass rear panel that has been elevated and curved. The huge camera island with widely spaced modules dominates the upper portion of the back. While the black mark on our Jade Green review unit looks distinct and contributes to the device's premium look and feel.

The OnePlus 10T comes with the standard power button on the right and a volume rocker on the left side. There is nothing unusual about this type of configuration, but other devices have both power and volume controls on the same side. The buttons offer a nice tactile feel when used.

Fans of OnePlus will be a little dismayed to find that the brand removed the slider from the OnePlus 10T in order to allow for additional features on the chipset.

The standard USB-C port can be found at the base, flanked by the speaker and microphone. There's also the SIM tray, which only supports two nano-SIM cards but no microSD slot. There's a second set of speakers and microphones at the top. Since the SIM tray's outer edge has a red gasket, indicating that it is not IP certified, that means that it is not dust- and water-resistant.

In addition, there is no 3.5mm jack, however, audio is supported via the USB-C port, or simply use Bluetooth earbuds like the OPPO Enco X2 if you want to listen to your music playlist.

Overall, the OnePlus 10T is true to its identity as a premium flagship device, with solid build quality and a glass Jade Green variant which stands out in the crowd with its glossy color and its comfortable to hold and use.

Display and Dual Stereo Speakers
The OnePlus 10T features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with full-HD+ (1080 x 2412) resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. With 10 bits of color depth, 950 nits of peak brightness, and HDR10+ support, the display looks crisp, and the colors are vivid. Gamers will love the 1000Hz maximum touch response rate, which is especially useful for first-person games.

The display has a flat panel with minimal bezels, unlike the one on the OnePlus 10 Pro. The selfie camera is situated in the center punch hole at the top of the display.

In addition, the under-display fingerprint reader is positioned near the bottom of the display. The scanner is both fast and accurate at reading fingerprints, allowing you to easily unlock the device.

The screen frame rate is adaptable up to 120Hz, and this mode is enabled by default. The screen can drop at 60Hz which is the standard refresh rate for smartphones. It features 120Hz, 90Hz, and 60Hz, which can be set at the display settings. However, we were unable to locate the 90Hz mode in the options. The only accessible options are 120Hz and 60Hz  which OnePlus describes as a power-saving mode.

The viewing angle is excellent, and the peak brightness of 950 nits and HDR10+ support contribute to a comfortable level of brightness. We find the auto-brightness option to be somewhat intrusive, so we disabled it and used our own preferred brightness setting manually.

The sound from the Dual Stereo Speakers with Dolby Atmos is fairly loud and clear, but not as rich as we would have expected. It supports noise cancellation when wired earphones are used.

Hardware Performance
The OnePlus 10T is powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 mobile platform, and its everyday performance is without a doubt exceptional.

With this device, OnePlus clearly targets gamers. As eSports explode in popularity, more smartphone brands are sponsoring tournaments to show off the gaming capabilities of their new devices to a potentially enormous audience.

The OnePlus 10T is available in two memory and storage capacity configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 16GB RAM + 256GB ROM. There is no microSD card slot for additional storage, so the higher RAM and storage capacity is the logical choice if you want to fully experience this device's capabilities.

OnePlus 10T on the AnTuTu benchmark app, scored 912,020 which is one of the best we've seen to date, but a bit shorter than early leaks claiming this device would surpass 1,000,000; this could be due to different scenarios in test conditions. On Geekbench 5, it scores 1,014 single-core and 3,982 multi-core tests. 3DMark's Wild Life Extreme graphics test yielded a score of 2,790. While on PCMark Work 3.0 Performance it scored 13,394.

This device is among the most powerful Android smartphones you can buy today, and with our everyday use, we did not encounter any issues during our routine test. It can run any app quickly, and switching between apps is very snappy with smooth animation.

We spent quite some time playing games like Call of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, and several casual games like Super Mario Run, and all through that time, the performance was smooth, the device never got hotter than a comfortable temperature, and the battery lasted longer than we would have expected. Although in most games, the screen refresh rate seems to be restricted to 60fps nonetheless, the game experience was still fun and enjoyable.

With its flagship chipset, lots of memory, and plenty of storage, it provides exceptional gaming performance. Apex Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, and more graphics-intensive games can be played at their maximum settings and resolution with no lag. You can experience the most extreme and captivating gaming thanks to the HyperBoost Gaming Engine's GPA Frame Stabilizer and GLC (GPU Load Control).

Software - OxygenOS 12.1
The OnePlus 10T runs on Android 12 with OxygenOS 12.1 which is the company's own custom system that provides the closest experience to stock Android.

OnePlus10T 5G

Oxygen OS offers snappy performance and gets 3 years of software updates and 4 years of security patches. This means that it will be updated to OxygenOS 13 as soon as it is made available for download over the air.

Cameras
The OnePlus 10T sports a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera. It looks impressive on paper, but the primary sensor is a midrange camera shooter, similar to the one seen in OnePlus Nord 2T.

OnePlus10T 5G

In addition, there is a dedicated 2-megapixel macro camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 119.9-degree field of view. While the 16-megapixel selfie camera sits in a punch hole at the top of the screen.

The default quality is binned at 12.5-megapixel however, OnePlus allows you to shoot at full resolution if desired.

The main camera on the OnePlus 10T takes pictures that are about the same quality as those from other midrange smartphones. Under ideal lighting conditions, photos appear clear and vibrant, with colors that are somewhat true to life.

In difficult lighting conditions, such as dim or strongly contrasted scenes, the image processing tends to over brighten dark regions, resulting in washed-out, dull shots. To solve this, just utilize the LED flashlight to illuminate the subject for improved photo quality.

Battery and Charging
During our test, we noticed that the 4,800mAh battery could last all day with moderate use but would need to be charged again by the end of the day with intensive use.

OnePlus10T 5G

The OnePlus 10T is equipped with the company's fast technology, which is a major plus. In fact, the 150W SUPERVOOC charger is the brand's fastest charging technology to date. It can easily charge the OnePlus 10T battery to 100% in less than 20 minutes. Not only that, but we also use the SUPERVOOC charger since it's USB-PD compliant and can deliver up to 45W to charge our laptop's battery, which is rather impressive.

The OnePlus 10T's absence of wireless charging support is one of its minor drawbacks when it comes to charging options.

Pros
Sleek and premium design
Flagship powerful chipset
Impressive cameras
Rock-solid performance
Good Stereo speakers
Impressive fast charging

Cons
Alert slider has been removed
Limited software support
No IP rating
Now wireless charging support
No audio jack
Most games stuck to 60Hz

Final thoughts
The OnePlus 10T 5G is a solid option for those who are serious about gaming, want a high screen refresh, fast flagship processor performance, and want a premium, stylish-looking device. It's also a good choice if you want to stick with the OnePlus brand and are upgrading from an older OnePlus smartphone.

Even with the most resource-intensive games, the 12GB and 16GB RAM variants will perform smoothly. This device is capable of delivering top-tier performance, and the battery charging speed is outstanding. The camera can shoot good photos and videos, but the lack of wireless charging and an IP rating, as well as the absence of an alert slider, are a bit disappointing.

The OnePlus 10T 5G is essentially an upper-midrange smartphone with a top-tier processor, impressive features, and world-class charging capability.
