The box contains the HONOR X8a, a USB Type-C cable, a 22.5W charger, a SIM pin, some paper materials, and a free soft protective case. Unfortunately, it does not have a 3.5mm audio jack, so it's better to get wireless earbuds to use when listening to music or watching videos.
First Impressions
The HONOR X8a features a slim profile with only 7.48mm in depth and a weight of only 179g, as well as a square shape that fits well in the hand, making it easy and comfortable to use.
The ultra-thin frame, which is only 1.1 mm on each side, has made the screen area larger and better, thus enhancing the visual experience. It features a large, flat 6.7-inch screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.6% and a refresh rate of 90Hz.
The Cyan Lake version, which is the one we have, shimmers when struck by light and looks quite premium; it's also available in other colors, including Titanium Silver and Midnight Black.
The phone's volume rocker and power button (which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner) are located on the right side. The buttons feel good when you press them, and the fingerprint reader lets you open the phone quickly and easily.
The SIM tray is positioned on the opposite side and can accommodate two nano SIM cards. However, there is no microSD card support for additional storage space.
The bottom of the phone has the usual primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and loudspeaker; however, it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, as we mentioned earlier. If you wish to use your wired earphones, you will need a type-C adapter to make it work.
The camera systems at the back boast a 100MP (f/1.9) main camera, a 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide and depth camera, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro camera.
Sample Camera shots:
The 100MP primary camera can intelligently identify a variety of scenes and use its super-resolution to take stunning photos. It has a large camera bulge, but thanks to the included case, it can be set on a table without fear of scratching the lens.
Stay tuned for the full review soon.
