Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Samsung Galaxy A37 5G in the Philippines. These new A series leans more into how people actually use their phones every day. Things like quick photo edits, jotting down notes, or searching for something on the fly feel easier with the added AI tools.
The Galaxy A57 5G leads the lineup with a cleaner design and more refined performance, while the A37 5G keeps things straightforward and accessible without losing the essentials.
Smarter Features
Both smartphones run on One UI 8.5, bringing a set of AI tools that are more practical than flashy. One of the more useful additions is Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app. It can turn recordings into text, which helps when reviewing meetings, lectures, or even quick voice notes.
AI Select is also easier to access. A long press on the Edge Panel lets you grab text or images directly from the screen without going through extra steps. It also works with drag-and-drop in split screen, so moving content between apps feels quicker.
There’s also Circle to Search, powered by Google, which now supports multiple objects at once. It’s handy when you want to search for different items in a single image without repeating the process.
Cameras
Both the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G and Samsung Galaxy A37 5G use a 50MP main camera, paired with ultra-wide and macro lenses. The Galaxy A57 5G has a bit of an edge here. It uses enhanced image processing, so details look slightly cleaner, and it handles motion better with a faster shutter.
Low-light shots are handled by improved Nightography, which helps reduce noise and keep images usable even in dim conditions. Both phones also use AI-based scene optimization to adjust exposure and colors automatically. Portraits look natural enough, and background separation is more consistent than before.
Performance for Everyday Tasks
The Galaxy A57 5G comes with an upgraded CPU, GPU, and NPU, which helps with smoother overall performance. It’s not designed for heavy gaming, but for typical usage, it holds up without issues.
Both devices feature 120Hz Super AMOLED displays, which make navigation feel smoother. The Vision Booster also helps improve visibility outdoors, especially under bright lighting.
Design and Battery
The A57 5G has a slimmer and lighter build compared to previous models. It’s more comfortable to hold, especially during long use. Despite the thinner design, both phones are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. That adds a bit of durability for everyday situations.
Battery capacity is 5,000mAh on both devices. In typical use, that’s enough for a full day, and it can stretch longer depending on usage.
Software Support and Security
Samsung is offering up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with up to six years of security updates. Security features include Samsung Knox Vault, along with tools like Privacy Alerts, Auto Blocker, and Private Album. These run in the background and help protect personal data without requiring much setup.
