DITO Telecommunity and DITO BizBayan have officially launched the DITO BizBayani Awards, a nationwide recognition program that celebrates Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for their contributions to economic growth, innovation, and community development.
The initiative seeks to recognize entrepreneurs whose businesses have demonstrated resilience, innovation, digital adoption, and positive impact within their communities. DITO said the program was created to highlight the stories of Filipino business owners who continue to drive growth despite challenges.
MSMEs account for more than 99 percent of registered businesses in the Philippines and employ a significant portion of the country's workforce. Through the awards program, DITO hopes to provide a national platform for these entrepreneurs and their achievements.
Gabby Cui, Head of DITO MSME, emphasized the purpose behind the awards. "At its heart, the DITO BizBayani Awards were created to recognize Filipino MSMEs and entrepreneurs who continue to move our country forward through innovation, resilience, creativity, and determination. Every small business has a story — a story of sacrifice, a story of growth, a story of taking risks despite uncertainty. And through this platform, we want to celebrate those stories and give deserving entrepreneurs the recognition they truly deserve."
Tamano also noted the role of connectivity in helping businesses expand their reach, particularly for enterprises operating outside major urban centers.
The DITO BizBayani Awards is supported by several public and private sector organizations, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), GCash, JobStreet, DCME Holdings, Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), Philippine AI Business Association (PAIBA), and the Philippine Council for Small & Medium Businesses (PCSMB).
The awards will recognize businesses across five categories:
Growth and Resilience – For businesses that have successfully overcome challenges and maintained sustainable growth.
Digital Adoption – For entrepreneurs who effectively use technology and digital tools to expand their operations.
Employer Excellence – For organizations that promote positive workplace culture and employee development.
Industry Impact – For businesses that play a significant role in supporting local economies and communities.
Bold Innovation – For companies introducing fresh ideas and disruptive solutions within their industries.

Nominations can now be submitted through the official DITO BizBayani Awards online portal. DITO is encouraging Filipinos nationwide to nominate entrepreneurs, community leaders, and local businesses that have demonstrated excellence and made meaningful contributions to their communities.
