Synology has introduced the HAS5300 line of 3.5" SAS hard drives to address the growing demand for high-capacity, high-performance, and durable storage systems in enterprise settings.

The HAS5300 drives, which are available in 16TB, 12TB, and 8TB capacities, are the newest addition to Synology's enterprise hard drive lineup, after the January release of the HAT5300 series SATA drives. They are the ideal complement to Synology's high-performance, highly scalable SA and UC storage systems.

HAS5300 SAS drives support 550 TB/year workloads1 and has 2.5 million hours mean time to failure (MTTF). Your mission-critical applications benefit from persistent write cache technology.

In addition, customers can maximize iSCSI system availability with a dual controller setup on the UC3200 active-active IP SAN using Synology HAS5300 drives. Fast data transfer is also supported for data-intensive configurations.

Three models of the HAS5300 series have undergone over 200,000 hours of compatibility and stress testing3 on Synology systems, ensuring unmatched reliability and integration with Synology deployments.

The HAS5300 series was developed to ensure optimal compatibility and performance with Synology systems, most notably improved RAID rebuild performance.

HAS5300 drive firmware updates will be shipped together with the latest updates for Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, reducing IT teams' maintenance workload and ensuring that your system always runs the newest software. Synology offers a 5-year limited warranty on the HAS5300 series.
