Coins.ph Launches Link & Pay: One-Tap Payments Made Simple
Paying online should be quick, but it rarely is. You tap checkout, then suddenly you’re dealing with logins, OTPs, and extra confirmations that slow everything down. With Link & Pay, Coins.ph is working to improve how payments are handled by streamlining the process without removing important safeguards.

What Link & Pay actually does
At its core, Link & Pay uses tokenized payments, but in actual use, it feels simple. Instead of entering your login details every time, your account gets linked once to a merchant. After that, checkout becomes almost automatic. It’s like handing over a limited-access digital key instead of exposing your full account.

Once you’re set up, selecting Coins.ph at checkout is enough to complete the payment—no repeated logins or interruptions.

Where it makes the biggest difference
You’ll feel this most in smaller, frequent transactions. Buying in-game items, paying subscriptions, or ordering something quickly these are the moments where the usual login steps feel unnecessary.

After using similar systems before, the biggest difference here is how consistent the experience becomes. You don’t get pulled out of the flow just to verify again. It feels more like tapping through than going through a process.

Security stays intact
Even without repeated logins, security isn’t being skipped. The system works using tokens instead of actual account details. That means merchants never get access to sensitive information, and even if something gets exposed, the token itself doesn’t carry usable data.

It’s one of those setups where convenience and security actually work together instead of competing.
Built-in safeguards for peace of mind

To keep things controlled, Coins.ph added limits for automatic payments. Transactions are capped at ₱1,000 each, with a daily total of ₱5,000 and up to five successful transactions per day.

If you go beyond those limits, you’ll need to manually confirm the payment. It’s a small trade-off, but it makes sense—especially for larger amounts.

Setup is quick and straightforward
Linking your account doesn’t take long. You select “Link Coins Account” at checkout, go through a one-time OTP verification, and that’s it. After that initial step, everything becomes much faster moving forward.

Why it matters for merchants
From a business side, this is where things get interesting. Shorter checkout flows usually mean fewer abandoned carts. When customers don’t have to stop and log in again, they’re more likely to complete the purchase.

On top of that, Link & Pay supports recurring payments and direct debit. This allows merchants to automate billing for subscriptions or services, which helps avoid missed payments and keeps transactions consistent.

Funds are also settled in real time, so there’s no waiting around after a successful payment.
What stands out in actual use What makes Link & Pay noticeable isn’t that it introduces something entirely new—it’s how it removes small annoyances that usually go unnoticed.

Not having to log in again or wait for OTPs every single time makes a bigger difference than expected. Once you get used to it, going back to the old flow feels slower.

Limitations to keep in mind
It’s not completely frictionless in every scenario. Larger transactions will still require manual confirmation, and the first-time setup still involves OTP verification. It also depends on merchants supporting the feature, so availability may vary depending on where you’re paying.
