Apple HomeView
Apple has introduced Apple HomeView, a smart home display that combines entertainment, communication, and home management in one device. It features a 7-inch display, the Apple A18 chip, a new Siri AI experience, and personalised profiles for household members.

Designed for shared spaces, HomeView recognises individual users and adapts its interface to display their personal content. It also serves as a central hub for compatible smart home accessories, allowing users to manage connected devices, monitor cameras, and control household functions through touch or voice commands.

7-Inch Display and Personalised Experience
Apple HomeView features a 7-inch LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, a 1088 × 1088-pixel resolution, and a 220 ppi pixel density. Its square display has a 1:1 aspect ratio.

The screen supports True Tone and automatic brightness adjustment, ranging from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits. An oleophobic coating helps resist fingerprints, while built-in sensors adjust the interface according to the user's distance from the display.

The device features an aluminium enclosure, a domed speaker base, and a stainless steel hinge for adjusting the viewing angle. It comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space grey. A separate wall-mounted version is also available in space grey and silver.

HomeView can recognise up to six people through facial recognition. Each user gets a personalised Home Screen with their own apps and widgets, while shared photo albums and music remain accessible to everyone in the household.

Users can customise the display with different faces, including Photos with Portrait-style depth effects, the interactive Flow face, and animated Snoopy designs that respond to the time of day, weather, and sporting events.

A18 Chip and Siri AI
HomeView runs on Apple's A18 chip and features a new version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. Apple says Siri AI supports more natural conversations, broader world knowledge, and onscreen awareness.

When paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can draw on personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar to provide more relevant responses. Conversations can continue across supported Apple devices through the Siri app and iCloud.

HomeView also supports FaceTime with Center Stage, which automatically adjusts camera framing to keep participants in view as they move around the room. Users can read and reply to Messages through voice commands or the onscreen keyboard.

Other features include Intercom for sending announcements to different rooms, recipe instructions, hands-free timers, and Find My for locating supported Apple devices and personal items.

Camera, Audio, and Entertainment
HomeView features a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an Æ’/2.4 aperture and Center Stage support. Its four-microphone beamforming array is designed to capture voices clearly during calls and voice interactions.

The countertop model features two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer, and two force-cancelling passive radiators. Computational audio uses internal sensors to optimise loudness and bass response. The wall-mounted model features two custom drivers with audio tuned for wall placement.

For entertainment, HomeView supports Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV, and compatible third-party audio and video apps. Apple Music users can view animated album artwork and lyrics, while Handoff lets them transfer audio playback from an iPhone to HomeView.

Users can also connect multiple HomeView devices, HomePod speakers, HomePod mini units, and compatible AirPlay speakers for multiroom audio.

Smart Home Controls and Security
HomeView serves as a central dashboard for compatible smart home accessories. Users can control lights, adjust thermostats, lock doors, close blinds, and view security camera feeds through touch or Siri AI.

Its Home Camera face can display up to nine live camera feeds simultaneously. With compatible cameras and a supported iCloud+ subscription, users can receive notifications about recognised people, familiar faces, pets, packages, and vehicles.

The device also supports video descriptions for HomeKit Secure Video footage and can detect smoke or carbon monoxide alarm sounds to send alerts to compatible Apple devices.

HomeView works with Apple's new Home Collection, which includes smart home cameras, thermostats, and a lock developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. It also supports compatible Apple Home and Matter accessories.

Privacy and Security
Apple says privacy is central to HomeView's design. Its A18 chip uses Secure Exclaves, hardware-isolated environments that process camera and microphone data separately from the rest of the system.

Personal information in apps such as Messages and Calendar appears only when the device recognises the enrolled user and detects their paired iPhone or iPad nearby, provided that device has been recently unlocked.

Siri requests can be processed on-device or through Private Cloud Compute. Apple says data processed through Private Cloud Compute is not stored or made accessible to the company or other parties.

HomeView also incorporates recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminium in its enclosure base, recycled gold plating and tin solder in Apple-designed circuit boards, and recycled rare earth elements in its magnets. These materials support Apple's goal of achieving carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030.

Availability and Price
Apple HomeView is priced at US$299 for either the countertop or wall-mounted version. Apple plans to release HomeView in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The European Union is excluded from the initial rollout because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the region. Siri AI on HomeView supports English in these markets. Philippine availability and local pricing have yet to be announced.
