Samsung Electronics Philippines has partnered with Cordillera Mountain Ultra (CMU) as the event’s Official Watch Partner, bringing the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 to the country’s trail-running community through its Trail with Galaxy initiative.
The partnership promotes outdoor activities and shows how wearable technology can support runners as they navigate challenging mountain routes, monitor performance, and prepare for longer adventures.
Held annually in Benguet, Cordillera Mountain Ultra attracts trail runners of different experience levels, offering race distances suited to both seasoned athletes and those discovering the sport. The event also serves as a gathering point for the growing trail-running community in the Philippines.
Galaxy Watch Ultra2 Features for Trail Running
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 features several tools designed for outdoor activities, including dual-frequency GPS, Trail Run Mode, and GPX route guidance. These features help runners follow planned routes and track performance data such as elevation, climbing progress, and pace.
The smartwatch also features a rugged titanium body, IP69K and 10ATM ratings, and a display with peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Its 800mAh battery is designed to support extended outdoor activities.
Another feature is Nutrition Alert, which provides hydration guidance based on estimated sweat loss. This can help runners monitor their hydration needs during demanding trail sessions.
Through Trail with Galaxy, Samsung aims to demonstrate how these features can support runners beyond everyday fitness tracking, particularly when navigating unfamiliar terrain and managing their efforts over longer distances.
Trail with Galaxy Extends Beyond Race Day
Beyond the race itself, the partnership will include community sessions and trail experiences intended to make trail running more accessible to a wider audience. These activities will give participants opportunities to learn from experienced runners, connect with other trail enthusiasts, and experience Galaxy technology in outdoor environments. The initiative aims to encourage more Filipinos to take up trail running, whether they are trying the sport for the first time or preparing for more challenging routes.
