realme Book Laptop Unboxing and First Impressions

realme Philippines launched its first laptop, the realme Book. . It's targeted towards young professionals and students seeking a powerful yet reasonably priced laptop. Its pack with impressive specs housed in a slim and lightweight package.

The realme Book is available in two processor configurations: Intel Core i3 and Core i5, as well as two color options: real Silver and real Blue. realme Philippines was gracious enough to provide us a review unit in order for us to put this latest innovation to the test.

Unboxing
Considering the fact that it contains a 14-inch laptop, the packaging is surprisingly compact. The front of the box features an image of the realme Book, while the back contains the technical specifications.

Inside the box, it contains the realme Book laptop, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, a 65W PD wall adapter, and paper documentation that is needed to get started.

Premium Design
The realme Book is a lightweight and compact laptop that weighs only 1.38kg and is 14.9mm in thickness. It has a stylish aesthetic thanks to the smooth aluminum finish that has been made possible through a super CNC cutting, sandblasting, and anodizing process.

The realme branding is prominently displayed on the cover. It has a clean and subtle design, feels solid, and also has premium quality. It comes in two trendy and stylish colorways: real Blue and real Silver the latter of which is the color of our review unit.

Opening the lid reveals the 14-inch display, the power button, the butterfly-style backlit keyboard, and an extra-large touchpad. The palm rest is clean and free of stickers, which contributes to the laptop's overall appearance.

The 2K Ultra-HD screen produces sharp images, and the slim bezels allow for a 90% screen-to-body ratio, which provides a more immersive viewing experience. Its 3:2 aspect ratio enables the display of more vertical content than typical laptops, which utilize a 16:9 aspect ratio. It provides a maximum display brightness of 400 nits, ensuring good visual quality even when used outdoors. A full-spectrum color gamut of 100 percent sRGB provides images that are as close to natural as possible.

Performance
The realme Book is powered by Intel Tiger Lake 11th Generation CPUs. It is offered in two configurations: Intel Core i3-1115G4 and Core i5-1135G7. Additionally, it includes 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB (Core i3), and 512GB (Core i5) SSD storage. In terms of battery life, it features a 54Wh battery that, according to realme, provides 11 hours of power.

The Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor with dual-core quad-thread is the version of our review unit that features the latest connectivity interfaces, including two USB-C 3.2 Gen, one USB-A 3.1 Gen, and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack. Regrettably, It does not include a Thunderbolt 4 port, which is found with the Intel Core i5-1135G7 model.

For wireless connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 5 a/b/g/n/ dual-band, and Bluetooth 5.1. Other features of the laptop include the fingerprint power button, a 720P HD camera, dual-mic noise cancellation, and HARMAN stereo surround sound by DTS.

First Impressions
The realme Book is a stylish laptop with solid internals that is capable of performing daily work tasks or online school activities. The 14-inch 2K IPS display is vibrant and perfect for watching movies, and the speakers are excellent as well. We love the laptop's clean and stylish look, and we look forward to using it as our primary work computer.

Price and Availability
The realme Book i3 variant is available for ₱37,990, while the i5 variant is available for ₱47,990. You can avail of the realme Book at ₱8,000 OFF for the i3 (₱29,990) and ₱6,000 OFF for the i5 (₱41,990) when you pre-order via the realme Official Store on Lazada.

The realme Book will also be available in all Silicon Valley stores starting October 1, 2021 with freebies worth ₱5,500 including a free one-year Microsoft Office 365 subscription, a realme laptop bag, and a mouse.
