Garmin has introduced the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro, its latest multisport GPS smartwatches for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Both models add new stamina metrics, improved navigation, expanded rucking tools, and Garmin Epic, which turns multiple activities into a single shareable story in Garmin Connect.
The fēnix 9 Pro also gets a titanium case, brighter AMOLED displays, solar charging options, and a new green flashlight mode. Both watches focus on training data, navigation, and longer battery life for extended activities.
Garmin Epic Groups Your Activities
Garmin Epic is a new free feature in Garmin Connect that combines multiple activities into one shareable story. You can group activities recorded across several days, weeks, or months, then view your health and performance data for that period. You can also add photos and share the finished Epic with friends and family. It works well for longer trips, cycling events, training programs, or any series of activities you want to keep together.
New Stamina Tracking
The fēnix 9 adds stamina zones and a stamina curve to help you understand how your endurance changes over time. The metrics use fitness gains and training history to provide more context around your stamina and help you pace yourself during activities. Indoor rowing also gets additional metrics, including VO2 Max and a power curve. These give you more information for tracking progress, setting goals, and adjusting workout intensity.
Better Rucking and Navigation
Rucking gets expanded support on the fēnix 9. You can change your pack weight during an activity, follow GORUCK workouts directly from the watch, and set targets such as calories burned with up to 100kg of pack weight.
Navigation also gets an upgrade. The fēnix 9 has built-in routable maps, 50% more RAM than the fēnix 8, and an updated map engine. Garmin says map panning is up to 30% faster. A new perspective view adds more detail both close to your position and farther along the route. With 64GB of storage, the fēnix 9 supports twice as many downloaded maps as the fēnix 8 and stores up to 7,000 songs.
fēnix 9 Gets a Brighter AMOLED Display
The fēnix 9 features an AMOLED display that Garmin says is twice as bright as its predecessor. It also uses a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, leakproof buttons, and a dive rating of up to 40 meters. The watch comes in 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm sizes, giving users more options based on wrist size and display preference.
fēnix 9 Pro Adds Titanium and 3,000-Nit AMOLED
The fēnix 9 Pro builds on the fēnix 9 with a new design and titanium watch case. Garmin uses nano-molding technology to combine metal and plastic, helping reduce the watch's thickness while keeping the construction rugged and lightweight.
Its AMOLED displays reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The 51mm Pro model also features Garmin's first 1.5-inch AMOLED display, which provides 15% more display area than the fēnix 8 without increasing the case size.
Selected Pro models also feature solar charging displays for longer battery life. The Pro series adds an integrated LED flashlight with a green light mode designed to help preserve night vision during nighttime activities.
New Bands
Garmin is also offering new ComfortFit accessory bands for the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro. The fabric bands use a split-weave design with stretch, durability, softness, and moisture resistance. They support QuickFit, making it easier to change bands.
Pricing and Availability
The fēnix 9 starts at ₱62,690 and offers up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode on the largest size. The fēnix 9 Pro starts at ₱72,690 and offers up to 31 days of battery life in smartwatch mode with the largest AMOLED display. Select solar models reach up to 57 days.
The new fēnix series will be available starting September 16, 2026 via Garmin.com, Garmin Brand Stores, Garmin Specialty Stores, and Garmin's official e-commerce platforms. Pre-orders run from August 27 to September 10, 2026 at Garmin Brand Stores, Garmin Specialty Stores, and Kinetic.
