Apple has introduced the Apple Watch Series 12, its latest smartwatch with a new Health Sensing System, S11 chip, more frequent health measurements, and a new Readiness feature. The new model focuses heavily on health and fitness while adding improved battery performance, accessibility features, and new watchOS 27 capabilities.
More Frequent Health Tracking
The Apple Watch Series 12 uses redesigned optical and electrical sensors with the S11 chip to provide higher-frequency heart monitoring. It measures background heart rate every five seconds throughout the day, while HRV measurements are taken more frequently to provide additional information about stress and recovery.
The watch also adds recovery HRV and overall HRV measurements, with daytime and overnight vitals providing a broader view of changes in the user’s health data. Apple says the Series 12 delivers its most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable.
New Readiness Score
One of the biggest additions is Readiness, which analyzes recent activity, training load, vital signs, and sleep score to produce a 0–10 daily score. The watch then provides one of four recommendations: Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready, or Go For It. The score can update during the day as new workout and health data becomes available.
Better Battery and Charging
Apple Watch Series 12 offers up to 24 hours of everyday battery life and up to 10 hours during outdoor workouts, a 25 percent improvement over the previous model. Charging is also faster. 15 minutes of charging can provide up to 12 hours of additional battery life, while Apple lists 0–80 percent charging in about 30 minutes.
More Accurate Step Tracking
Apple redesigned the pedometer system using new machine learning algorithms to improve distance measurements during indoor walking and running. The S11 chip also enables more accurate step counting throughout the day. A new Steps complication lets users see their step count directly from the watch face.
New Audio and Accessibility Features
The S11 chip also powers new audio-related features. Sound Recognition can alert users who are deaf or hard of hearing when it detects sounds such as sirens, alarms, doorbells, or a baby crying, even without the iPhone nearby. The Series 12 also supports Shazam for identifying music directly from the wrist. Apple is adding other Audio Intelligence features, including Live Rewind and Siri Recap, later this year.
watchOS 27
The Series 12 comes with watchOS 27, which adds a dynamic app grid, new single-handed tap controls, Smart Stack suggestions, and support for perimenopause and menopause tracking. The watch also supports ECG, heart-rate notifications, sleep tracking, sleep score, cycle tracking, fall detection, crash detection, Emergency SOS, and other health and safety features.
For users in the Philippines, sleep apnea notifications are also coming to Apple Watch. The feature analyzes breathing disturbance data and can notify users when it detects consistent signs associated with moderate to severe sleep apnea.
Design and Sizes
Apple Watch Series 12 is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes with aluminum, titanium, and ceramic cases. Aluminum comes in dark bronze, light gold, black, and space gray, while titanium is available in radiant gold and natural. The ceramic model comes in pearl white and night blue. Aluminum versions use Ceramic Shield 2, while titanium and ceramic models have sapphire front crystal. The watch also features an Always-On Retina OLED display with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness.

Apple Watch Series 12 is coming to the Philippines with the following starting prices:
- Aluminum: Starts at ₱28,990, available in GPS or GPS + Cellular
- Titanium: Starts at ₱50,990, with GPS + Cellular
- Ceramic: Starts at ₱65,990, with GPS + Cellular
The aluminum model is the most affordable option, while titanium and ceramic target buyers looking for more premium materials and cellular connectivity.
