Samsung has introduced the new Samsung Galaxy A18 and Galaxy A08, expanding its Galaxy A smartphone lineup with upgraded performance, essential AI features, and longer software support for users in the Philippines.
Both smartphones run on the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor and feature LPDDR5 memory, with support for RAM Plus to provide additional virtual memory. Samsung is also bringing enhanced Circle to Search capabilities and AI assistants to the new models, giving users more ways to search for information and complete everyday tasks.
The two phones share several features, including IP64-rated dust and splash protection, Samsung Knox security, and up to six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. However, the Galaxy A18 focuses on display quality and camera versatility, while the Galaxy A08 prioritizes battery capacity and everyday reliability.
Samsung Galaxy A18 Features
The Samsung Galaxy A18 features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display designed for streaming videos, browsing social media, and playing mobile games.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, paired with upgraded LPDDR5 memory for faster data transfer and more responsive multitasking. The phone also supports RAM Plus, which uses available internal storage as virtual memory to help keep more apps running in the background. Users can adjust RAM Plus depending on their needs or turn it off to preserve storage for photos, videos, and other files.
For photography, the Galaxy A18 features a triple-camera system consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The combination gives users more flexibility when capturing landscapes, group photos, and close-up subjects. Samsung will offer the Galaxy A18 in Black, Silver, and Light Blue.
Samsung Galaxy A08 Features
The Samsung Galaxy A08 takes a different approach, focusing on battery life and the essentials needed for everyday smartphone use. It comes with a 6,000mAh battery designed to support extended use for video streaming, social media browsing, messaging, and other daily activities.

Like the Galaxy A18, the Galaxy A08 uses the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor and LPDDR5 memory. It also supports RAM Plus, allowing users to allocate available storage for additional virtual memory when needed.
The camera setup includes a 50MP autofocus main camera, a 2MP depth camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The Galaxy A08 will be available in Dark Blue, Silver, and Green.
AI Features
Samsung is bringing additional AI-powered capabilities to both smartphones, making it easier for users to find information and interact with supported applications. Enhanced Circle to Search lets users circle or tap content displayed on their screens to search for relevant information without manually typing a query or switching between apps.

The new Find the Look feature expands these capabilities by allowing users to search for an entire outfit or identify music playing nearby. Both devices also support multiple AI agents, including Google Gemini and Perplexity, which can help users interact with supported Galaxy, Google, and selected third-party apps through voice commands or a long press.
These features aim to simplify common tasks, from looking up information to navigating supported applications. Availability and functionality may vary depending on the application and service.
IP64 Protection and Six Years of Software Support
Long-term reliability is another key feature of the Galaxy A18 and Galaxy A08. Both smartphones carry an IP64 rating, which indicates protection against dust and water splashes. However, this rating does not mean the devices are waterproof, so users should avoid submerging them in water.

The Galaxy A18 also features a glass-fibre-reinforced polymer back cover designed to provide additional strength while maintaining a slim profile.
Samsung will provide both models with up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. This extended support gives users more time to keep their devices updated with newer software features and security improvements.
For data protection, the Galaxy A18 and Galaxy A08 come with Samsung Knox and Knox Vault. Knox Vault provides hardware-based protection for sensitive information, adding another layer of security when users store personal data on their phones.
